I've maintained Friendships with a lot of these fellows.Mattresses have a high mark up too! That means the closer to ticket price, you'll be set for the day! Cons In dustry has been hit hard this year, but management makes adjustments to overcome loss in business with bonuses. Advice to Management Area Managers need more time to assist their stores, should be more salay based pay and less dependant on personal sales. Feb 20, 2017 I have been working at Mattress Firm full-time (More than a year) Pros Okay work hours, holiday pay, sometimes weekends off, good work atmosphere Cons Hard to get hired for infirm positions, have to work weekends sometimes or late nights Advice to Management Look into people that work in this company already. Some of the people got more experience and work really hard and don't get picked for position, but people with less expires and less work effort get picked. Cons THE PAY STRUCTURE!!!!!! The point of sale system, payroll department glitches, the lack of communication about said payroll glitches, too many Mattress Firm locations too close together without them taking that into account when they set our goals Advice to Management Your "bonus" program is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. Really, it is not a bonus. It is more like, if you don't reach this often times unattainable goal, you do not get all of your pay. I cannot believe that there are mattresses that can be sold for mere cents in commission! Your whole pay compensation program is insulting! I went from making around $4000 a month with Sleepys to only clearing about $1300 last month. I have lost my car insurance, my car is on the verge of repossession, the health insurance has changed so many times and is now so high that I cannot even afford to have my child on it. I literally had to go to food pantry for poor people just to eat! I am in the process of applying for food stamps right now.
