We had a unit on the lower level at the back. It was clean and comfortable, but had little natural light. The bed was comfortable, the breakfasts good. The owner was friendly and helpful. Level Contributor“” We stayed here for 2 nights in November and Juana welcomed us like we were family. We were in town for our son's hockey tournament so she made sure we had breakfast (which was delicious) and worked it out so we weren't late for any games. Located in a quiet area, very close to everything. Our room was cozy and... “” We had a great time at Heritage Home B&B. We had a bed robe party at breakfast both mornings we were there. All the guests joined in, including Juana. It was a memory we will treasure. We had a great dinner at the Black Spoon right down the street. We took the Englishtown ferry over to the Cabot Trail which... Level Contributor“” We stayed at this B&B to see the autumn colors on Cape Breton. Our plan was to drive the Cabot Trail and found that we'd booked during the International Celtic Festival held each October.

We had a great experience, attending two concerts in nearby communities that were easy to travel to. The Cabot Trail drive was a full day excursion... Level Contributor“” My wife and I spent a night at this B & B centrally located in New Sydney with a view towards the harbour and the ocean. After a lengthy seven hour drive from Halifax to the start of the Cabot Trail we were absolutely thrilled about the Heritage Home. The home looks like a mansion and the various apartments or... Level Contributor“” Large older home ,which is in great shape. We had unit 3 which had its own separate entrance and was very spacious and clean.Great location for ferry to Newfoundland or just a stop going to the Cabot Trail.Thank Andrew S Level Contributor“” via mobileWe had a lovely stay after getting off the ferry from Newfoundland. Our room was perfect for three as the second bed, a single was in an adjacent room, almost a suite. The bedding and towels were lovely. Breakfast was full of many home baked choices, a little different than usual and full of flavour - the stuffed French toast...

Level Contributor“” via mobileAbsolutely beautiful. Exterior boasts of beautiful gardens. Across the street from the waterfront. Interior is spectacularly furnished. Kitchen table is set with the most beautiful blue and white China. The rooms themselves are so pretty and cozy. Owner is so hospitable and takes care of every last detail. Should we visit this part of Canada again we will be back! Level Contributor“” We spent two nights in this beautiful heritage home after taking the ferry from Port aux Basques. We had "The Cottage" room, which was very well named as the room was big enough to be a cottage. Breakfasts were delicious and guests had a choice of breakfasts to choose from, i.e., Blueberry and Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast, Eggs Benedict,... Level Contributor“” My wife and I stayed two nights at Juana's B&B. Beautiful, large victorian home. We stayed in the Cottage Deluxe Room with it's own private entrance. Comfortable, lots of room with a table and two chairs and a sitting area to read, etc.

Juana works hard to make sure that all is right. She serves up a nice breakfast and...Level Contributor“” The Colby House represents the very best in a B&B experience. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and nicely furnished. We stayed in the Pafford Suite across the street from the main house. It was a huge suite with a full kitchen, large living room, and best of all, since we had been traveling for 10 days, a washer and dryer!... Level Contributor“” Upstairs room beautifully furnished, clean. Hostess Bev always greeted us, was so helpful with restaurant suggestions - one great (Governor's), the other was MEH (Flavour on the Water)! TV actually worked, a good quiet reading corner and a guest computer made it a wonderful place to stay! Delicious and generous breakfast served with gracious smiles. Level Contributor“” We recently enjoyed an unexpected stay at Colby House. Bev was incredibly hospitable and flexible. We stayed in the Pafford and Park Suites across the street from the main house.

The amenities were the icing on the cake. We used the washer and dryer several times. Most of the time we forgot we were staying in someone else's place. Level Contributor“” We stayed there for unfortunately only one night during the Celtic Colours. It was our first time there, as well as Nova Scotia and The Colby House is what would bring us back for sure! From the moment you walk in you are welcomed like family, treated like royalty and yet left with such a peaceful feeling of privacy and... Level Contributor“” My husband and I stayed at Colby House during Celtic Colours this year. It was our first trip to Cape Breton and Colby House, but it certainly won't be our last. Being on a 3 1/2 week vacation, laundry stops are always important and so we rented one of the lovely apartments across the street from the main house. Level Contributor“” via mobileThe hosts came through even during the terrific storm. They kept us as comfortable as they could even without power and found a way to make coffee!

Before and after the storm the B&B is still to be recommended. Lovely room and common areas, great breakfast and welcoming and informative hosts. Level Contributor“” We stayed at Colby House during Celtic Colours. We were in a unit across the road which was a fully equipped suite, including laundry. The accommodations were first rate and the hosts were great. They should get a medal for getting a breakfast together with no power in the house after Hurricane Matthew passed through the city. Level Contributor“” We spent five nights at Colby House and I would return in a heartbeat! The accommodationis were spotlessly clean and comfortable. We paid an additional $5. Per night and stayed in the apartment across from the main house. My first apartment didn't have as much room as this place. As an extra bonus, there is a washer and dryer in... “” Spent just under three weeks at Colby House B&B while in Sydney for work. The rooms are extremely well maintained and cozy.
