Palatine have always been known for manufacturing retail and contract mattresses in their state of the art 150,000 square foot factory based in Stamfordham Road, Westerhope, Newcastle, however in June 2012 they launched their new luxury retail brand 1907.

The name 1907 was chosen because of George Handyside a local North East property developer and entrepreneur who died in 1905 and left £10,000 to Newcastle City Council. He bequeathed the money on the provision that it was used to set up an adult workshop for the blind and so in 1907 Palatine Beds business opened its doors. Palatine are proud of their rich heritage and have over 100 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry. It seemed only right that 1907 would become the name of Palatine Beds luxury mattress range. Since the launch of 1907 in June last year, Palatine have seen customers average spend increase by over 40%. Andrew Waters, Sales & Marketing Manager at 1907 said: “We are pleased that we have had a strong volume of sales even though the retail climate is tough at the moment. “The new brand has been very successful since it launched a year ago, customers  have said they love the new modern 1907 showroom and they think it is fantastic to be able to purchase a luxury mattress that was handcrafted right here in the North East.

“The impact on the staff has also been very positive they have embraced the changes to the business and are excited to see their brand compete with some leading high street retailers. “We hope that local people can come along to the 1907 showroom and help us to celebrate our first year anniversary, there will be special birthday offers in-store from 19th to 24th June 2013.” For more information about the 1907 luxury mattress range please visit the website www.1907beds.co.uk or visit the 1907 showroom, Stamfordham Road, Westerhope, Newcastle upon Tyne NE5 5HH Buy from Bodymould MattressesThis Week’s Big Deals Deluxe Chicken Coop with Run Purina BETA Dog Food Active Adult Chicken 14kg Pisa Faux Leather Adjustable Bar Stool Cream Vienna Ottoman King Bed Grey Linen London Linen Dining Chairs Cream Set of 2 Gaming Sports Office Chair Red Keter Store It Out Midi Rowlinson Rustic Cottage Arbour Handy Garden 4in1 Petrol Multitool
