Well this is about the worst thing we have ever seen. It’s absolutely disgusting, and everyone involved should be completely ashamed of themselves. The San Antonio Miracle Mattress store put out the following ad mocking 9/11 in a lame attempt to try and sell mattresses: Just watching that makes us sick to our stomach. Thousands of innocent people lost their lives on that day during the worst terrorist attack in American History and these idiots are trying to use it to make a buck. For what it’s worth, after some social media backlash, the story did attempt an apology: “To all of those who have seen our 9/11 sale. We are very sorry we have offended you. Our intentions were not to hurt anyone at all. Our staff is full of military and some relatives have passed away due to 9/11. We are promoters of peace and love. We have given abundantly to our community here in San Antonio and wish to remain known as a company who respects and loves others. We hope you find it in your hearts to forgive us.

Please accept our apology,” The sort of apology said. Many of the comments do not accept their apology. One commentator pointed out it wasn’t really an apology, “You’re sorry you offended me? That’s not an apology I accept. Apologizing for creating it in the first place would be a start. Admitting you were WRONG for creating it is another step. There will never be an appropriate time to mock 9/11, and to do it to promote mattress sales?! Are you kidding me? Have some self respect,” she said. Later the Miracle Mattress corporate office posted a slightly more appropriate apology. “An Apology to All the Victims and Families of 9/11 from Miracle Mattress,” the release started. “I am Mike Bonnanno, Owner of Miracle Mattress. Today, I was made aware of a social media video produced by our San Antonio team highlight a promotional sale using the upcoming 9/11 Anniversary as the incentive. The video was posted on Facebook without my knowledge or approval from our corporate office in Houston.

I say this unequivocally, with sincere regret: the video is tasteless and an affront to the men and women who lost their lives on 9/11. Furthermore, it disrespects the families who lost their loved ones and continue to struggle with the pain of this tragedy every day of their lives. All I can say is I am deeply sorry and on behalf of the entire Miracle Mattress family. I accept responsibility for this thoughtless and crude advertisement and will immediately hold my employees accountable for this serious lapse of decency. I am disgusted such a video would have been conceived as a promotional tool and even more incensed it was created and posted on any social media site that represents Miracle Mattress. Effective immediately, Miracle Mattress will review our entire marketing strategy to ensure a stringent approval process will be in place to stop this form ever happening again. WE will also engage a personnel review to hole these employees accountable for their actions.

Miracle Mattress Strives to be a community partner and I could list our community outreach events and countless donations to the communities we swerve, However, this one act negates years of work and a laundry list of what we have done will not suffice. We apologize and we promise to do better. Over the next several days, we will determin an appropriate response to express our regret and support for the 9/11 victims and their families. But for now only a sincere apology and acceptance of our fault is warranted.” Do you accept the apology?Miracle Mattress closes store indefinitely following outrage over 'Twin Tower sale' adMiracle Mattress (Photo: Sinclair Broadcast Group)AASAN ANTONIO -- A local mattress store is closing its doors indefinitely after releasing a 'Twin Tower sale' ad that sparked outrage across the country. The owner of Miracle Mattress released the following statement in connection with the incident.Miracle Mattress StatementMiracle Mattress Closes Store Indefinitely in Respect of 9/11 AnniversarySeptember 9th, 2016Effective immediately, our Miracle Mattress store will be closed indefinitely.

We will be silent through the 9/11 Anniversary to avoid any further distractions from a day of recognition and remembrance for the victims and their families. We take full responsibility for our actions and sincerely regret the hurt and pain caused by this disrespectful advertising campaign.Miracle Mattress will deliver a public statement next week highlighting accountability actions taken within the company. We will also describe our plans to offer support for the 9/11 Memorial and victims funds. There is very little we can do to take away the hurt we have caused, but we can begin with silence through the Anniversary and then do our best to follow up with actions that reflect the seriousness of our mistake. On a final note: there have been several fake social media accounts created in an attempt to attack commenters and those expressing outrage. Miracle Mattress, its ownership, and its employees, will not be engaging in any personal attacks or responses on any social media platform. Any account doing so is unauthorized.

Additionally, I will be the only individual making official comments or statements on behalf of Miracle Mattress.Respectfully,Mike BonannoOwner, Miracle MattressRelated Story:Mattress company's 'Twin Tower sale' commercial sparks national outragecloseSubscribe to New Jersey 101.5 FM on The owner of a Texas mattress store has closed its doors after his daughter appeared in a television advertisement promoting a 9/11 anniversary sale. At the end of the commercial, two Miracle Mattress employees knock over two towers of stacked mattresses, while Cherise Bonanno, the owner’s daughter, screams. In a statement posted to the store’s social media accounts Friday, owner Mike Bonanno said the store “will be closed indefinitely.” He said the company also “will be silent through the 9/11 anniversary to avoid any further distractions from a day of recognition and remembrance for the victims and their families.” He repeated his Thursday apology, saying the online ad was produced without his knowledge by employees in San Antonio.

He doesn’t mention, however, that his daughter — the store’s manager — stars in the ad. Calls to the store’s phone number on Saturday got a busy signal. Readers and listeners of New Jersey 101.5 — many who practically lived in the towers’ shadows from across the Hudson, or who saw Ground Zero’s smoke clouds from miles away, or who knew someone who perished in the attack — were outraged after Jeff Deminski brought their attention to the ad’s existence. Commenting on Jeff’s article, Randy Kiefer said: “Wonder if they would do one based on the Alamo or Pearl Harbor as well?” Suzanne Ziola Mazzuoccolo said: “I personally believe that the owner knew and wrote the letter to appease the public. Because it is the owners daughter in the video.” Nancy Chipura said what most people probably were thinking: “Terrible, Disgraceful, Offensive, and totally disrespectful to all those who were killed on 9/11. Shame on you for spoofing 9/11.” The store’s Facebook and Instagram pages also were hit with tons of angry comments.
