Items will be collected by a local organisation and reused. Use this service for large household items like that are broken or damaged and can't be reused. If you phone us to request an uplift, we will find out what you need collected and arrange a collection day. Only items you have told us about will be picked up. Your items should be on the kerbside for collection by 7am on your booked day. Standard special uplifts of household items cost £5 per item. The maximum number of items in one uplift is 10. It's £30 for up to and including 28 bags of garden waste.




We will discuss the charge with you if you require more than 28 bags picked up. It's also £30 for up to and including 15 bags or items of building materials. We won't uplift the following items Booked uplifts can only be cancelled or changed up to 11.30am the day before your uplift is due to take place. Construction work at Seafield The site will be closed to the public on Monday 6 March from 7am to 2pm.  This is due to construction work, and we apologise for the inconvenience. This site is under heavy construction so please be aware there may be delays when entering or exiting the site speed is restricted to 5 mph heavy machines and vehicles are moving in and around the site you should follow any instructions from site staff, for safety at all times. Thank you for your patience while we carry out this essential work, which should complete in the near future.




You can only use the site if you are an Edinburgh resident Residents can come to any site in cars or with single axle trailers to recycle or dispose of household waste Residents using vans and double axle trailers are only allowed in to Sighthill and Seafield. If you are using a hire van, you must bring the hire documents, and 2 forms of identification: a utility bill and a photo driving license, or a passport, or other form of photographic identification with address. Staff have the right to refuse access to anyone who fails to produce any of these documents. If you are using a van with no branding, please bring 2 forms of identification: a utility bill and a photo driving license, or a passport, or other form of photographic identification with address. Staff have the right to refuse access to anyone who fails to produce any of these documents. Liveried vans are not allowed into any of the sites. We no longer accept trade or business waste at any of the sites.
