I don't know if it works or not took tape to repair tear. The cover ripped as I put it on our mattress. The rips are by the zipper. It is still functional, but I'm not happy with the quality. I would not recommend this product. As soon as I went to put the mattress pad over my bed I got it over the end but as soon as I went to pull it (gently) over my bed the pad tore. And I don't mean just one little rip , the pad tore completely where I couldn't even salvage it. This is not a good buy !!! Not worth the savings I ordered this item for a spare bed in the guest room. That bed isn't used often so I didn't want to spend too much on it. Unfortunately my (not so long) finger nails easily punctured the mattress protector as I was trying to put the protector on the mattress.

Because it fits so closely to the mattress and it's made of delicate material, it's awkward to put on the mattress. I bought the king size and had my husband help me put it on the mattress and we were very careful not to rip it. I would not attempt to put it on a large mattress by myself! The mattress protector is too big I called customer service and told the rep that I wanted a mattress protector that fits like a fitted sheet. I was not interested in a mattress protector that envelops the whole mattress and then when I put the fitted sheet on top, it is always slipping.
