Cons NO Vacation, Long hours, Super slow, NO traffic. I have never worked in sales where I had to rely on the hourly rate of pay...They act like you should live at Mattress One...they call meetings 2 days in advance and make them mandatory, the schedule sometimes doesn't come out until they text you what you'll be working tomorrow. Really poor planning, it's demeaning to be treated like you don't have a life. They schedule you 6 days without asking. They schedule you more than 7 days straight. You get promised 50K a year and make 30K. They are continually messing around with your pay structure....8%, then 7%, then 6% with a higher hourly rate, and you WILL need the hourly to survive. Their customer service is atrocious...why even have a customer service department, if you're not going to solve problems? Refunds linger on for months, guests are pissed off. You are expected to provide any additional POP, i.e., balloons, banners, helium. Talk is cheap...put up or shut down. Advice to Management Stop opening new stores in an over saturated market and run the stores you have.

Get some real customer service people to run that department. Handle customer issues promptly. Pay your people well, or they won't stay. Stop lying to interviewees about what they'll make. Plan better, schedule more than one week in advance(oh, you can't because people are quitting all the time). This 9-9 crap during every holiday weekend is getting really old. Could we have one meeting start on time or not drag on for hours? Feb 22, 2017 I worked at Mattress One full-time (Less than a year) Pros You'll learn a few valuable life lessons on how not to treat people. Cons The owner's are third world so they run their business on values and principles of extreme Islamic ideologies. Advice to Management Get a grasp on how to treat people. This is their lives. Messing with their income and blind schedules 6 days a week is not cool. Changing commissions and stealing from your employees isn't either. The community relies on everyone sharing – Add Anonymous Review Feb 20, 2017 Helpful (1) I worked at Mattress One full-time (Less than a year) Pros There are no pros guys .

I am a professional, if you are as well run for the hills . Cons ***warning**Mattress Firm current of former employees do not join this circus . Hideous lies from the top . Do not wish this company on anyone . Pay is a joke as well as your "leaders " resumes . Current and former director of sales a horrible liar with zero integrity. Advice to Management Stop dangling carrots and ruining good people's lives . Hire people outside your circle . Your current line up is a fraternity with favoritism. Jan 6, 2017 Helpful (2) I have been working at Mattress One full-time (Less than a year) Pros I cant think of any Cons Poor management and little oppertunity Advice to Management ADVERTISE Oct 30, 2016 I have been working at Mattress One full-time (More than a year) Pros Pays good for commission sales. If you don't reach commission tier, you get paid minimum wage. There's always an opportunity to reach commission. Cons Coordinating deliveries with the Warehouse can be difficult, due to items sometimes being out of stock and has an all day window.

Also computer system needs to be updated. Advice to Management It's pretty easy to become a Store Manager Nov 4, 2016 Helpful (6) I worked at Mattress One full-time (More than a year) Pros The company does have the lowest prices for great quality mattresses around. The competition has to do a lot to beat the prices here. Cons The company has idiots running it. They don't care about the customers and they show it with the worst customer service and delivery department I have ever witnessed. There is an heavy difference between satisfied customers because of it. You can be an awesome sales associate but will lose referrals due to terrible last impressions left by the delivery department and customer service is even worst. And don't let me get started on the terrible pay scale. It has gotten worst and worst every 6 months. Currently Houston is on an $0- $29,999 = 7%.. $30,000+ =8% and if you get above $40k then you get a $500 bonus which is taxed. So that means if you sale $10,000 at 7% you'd have $700 before tax and insurance is factored in smh.

And when you make an milestone to the next percentage, you only get that new percentage for the amount that was above it. you sale $36,000, the first $30,000 is at 7%, the other $6,000 is at 8%. Mean while in other areas such as Austin are getting 10% comission with base across the board. I'm telling you people turn and run the other way! Advice to Management Stop being snakes and thinking you're smarter then everyone else. Hire people in the delivery department that care, hire actual customer service reps that know what customer service means (hints it's in the name). And pay your workers fairly. There is no reason that the sales team should wonder if they will even have an check coming in and are working 10hr shifts for at least 5 days a week. It's disrespectful to them as men and women. Aug 23, 2016 I have been working at Mattress One full-time (More than a year) Pros A lot of down time. You can make great money off commission. Boss is easy to talk to and laid back! Cons Rules seem to be made up on the spot.

You only make commission if you sell over a certain amount, or else you make min. wage Advice to Management Make a clear employee handbook Sep 3, 2016 Helpful (2) I have been working at Mattress One (More than 3 years) Pros Low pressure. Other employees very helpful and friendly Cons low pay, no benefits long hours Advice to Management need a better compensation plan Aug 17, 2016 I have been working at Mattress One (Less than a year) Pros I think the best thing is there is a lot of opportunity to move up, the company is growing fast. Also the way Mattress One pays is second to none. I have sales experience and their pay structure is actually amazing compared to every sales job I have had. Also you see commercials everywhere. The training was great and my District Manager is a good guy. Great overall experience so far. Cons Mattress One is a growing company, the only con is they are growing too quickly. Also retail sales is slow sometimes although most of the time you get a lot of customers, You just have to be patient.
