Marlene Dumas
Dicecream Magazine🔳Marlene Dumas (born 3 August 1953) is a South African born artist and painter who lives and works in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
She creates figurative works inspired by personal memories and a diverse array of printed matter including Polaroid photographs, newspaper and magazine cuttings, letters and Flemish paintings.
“I would like my paintings to be like poems. Poems are like sentences that have taken their clothes off.”
