Wylie has been in love with her best friend Paris for years. Now that she is back in town to manage her Dad’s veterinary clinic, she is determined to show Paris that they are much more than friends and what they could have together however when she shares her feelings with him, she is surprised by her reaction and not in a good way.

It has been drilled into Paris since he was a child that friends don’t make good lovers as evidenced by his parent’s relationship. When Wylie shares her feelings, Paris panics as he doesn’t want to lose the person who has stood by him and supported him through all he ups and down. When a rift develops between them because of this he must decide if she is willing to take the chance on what they could have together.

Wylie is patient and understanding as Paris tries to adjust to the changes in their relationship and once Paris works through the baggage of her past it is clear that they are soulmates
