Lounge Chair Rental Miami Beach

We will be visiting Miami Beach in June and I was wondering what the cost is of actually renting the beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach? And how about those big beach tents (as we will be traveling with an infant)? I assume they can't be cheap and was wondering if maybe it is cheaper just to buy some cheap chairs / umbrellas there at WalMart or somewhere? It is a shame our rental does not provide beach chairs and umbrellas - just towels. Your hotel may offer beach chairs and umbrellas as part of their seaside service apart from the rental unit you occupy ( a tip is customary for the attendant who sets you up for the day) or you may work with an independent contractor to rent chairs, pads and umbrellas on your own. This service is provided all over Miami Beach by Boucher Brothers. There is no Walmart directly on Miami Beach, but you may find umbrellas and chairs for sale at small shops, Walgreens or CVS pharmacy stores. If chair rental starts at $10 per day, buying your own chairs may be a better option.

The typical rate for chairs is $10 (no half day rentals :( ) and an umbrella is $15. If you buy an umbrella, you may think of a fairly good one as the super thin cheap ones break fairly easily. A lot of the hotels have you pay a Resort Fee which will include beach services. Depending on where you stay, these may range anywhere from $15 to $35 a night on top of your room rate. Instead, you can go to Walgreens and buy an umbrella for about $20 and use it the entire stay and then throw it away if you can't take it home with you. Last week it was $20 per lounge chair and $15 for an umbrella.

A big lounge bed was $65. I do no remember the price of the halfmoon cabanas. Had them till 5pm each day. Not sure if prices or times differ per time of year. Can you tell me which place had the lounge bed for $65? We paid $40 for two beach chairs yesterday at Boucher Brothers on 13th Street, Miami Beach. I tipped $5 to the guy who set up the chair. The girl who collected the money was a jerk.Until last year they used to charge $10/chair (and $15/umbrella). After reading your post I walked over to the beach between 5 and 15 Street and asked the Boucher Bros attendant about prices. They confirmed the $20/chair price now (umbrella is still $15). This makes the option of buying a chair/umbrella from CVS/Walgreens/Walmart that much more attractive. Prices are different south of fifth street (and north of 15 Street). I posted some info on that in this other thread: Birthday Dinner & Dancing in South Beach Recommendation for birthday drinks venue 1 Day in South Beach

We ordered a cabana from Boucher Bros. When we arrived, it had a “Happy Birthday” sign and our towels were in the shape of a heart. I was so thrilled to learn that the guests of The Gates Hotel in South Beach received complimentary beach chairs and towels from Boucher Brothers.
