The media admissions policy for LEGOLAND California Resort enables working media to become familiar with the Resort's many featured attractions and, at the same time, enjoy a day with family. This courtesy is extended to active members of the news media only, not including administration, sales or retired personnel. Requests received from the following industries will be approved on a case by case basis: The qualifying media representative must accompany his or her party to the Park. Complimentary media tickets include one day admission to LEGOLAND California, SEA LIFE® Aquarium, LEGOLAND Water Park and LEGO® Legends of CHIMA Water Park (both seasonal) and do not include parking fees. Complimentary two day admission tickets are not permitted. Arrangements are made through the LEGOLAND Media Relations Department. Please select the appropriate category below to request media tickets. A maximum of four (4) complimentary admission e-tickets are available to working media each year in the following categories:




Publishers, editors, reporters, writers and photographers News directors, assignment editors, producers (news/features), on-air personnel (anchors/hosts/DJs/reporters) and videographers/photographers Complimentary admission is provided to freelance writers and producers with written confirmation from the assigning news outlet Publishers, editors, reporters, writers and photographers with established online news media outlets will be regarded as print media A maximum of two (2) complimentary admission e-tickets are available to qualified bloggers each year. Requests from bloggers will be reviewed on a case by case basis as they relate to appropriate demographic coverage. Blog must cover the following topics to be considered: For holidays observed on Mondays (e.g., Memorial Day, Labor Day, etc.) all requests must be received by noon the previous Monday. 




Requests for weekend days made after noon on Monday will not be granted. Media on Assignment: News media on assignment must request interviews and photo sessions in advance through the Media Relations Department. This will ensure that appropriate Park personnel will be available at the time of the visit. All media on assignment must arrive at The Crossings Drive entrance and be escorted during their visit. Family members and friends will not be permitted to accompany media on assignment without prior approval. Working journalists can fill out the online request form, which will be automatically submitted to our Public Relations Department. Be sure to provide complete information. Someone from the Public Relations Department will reply to your inquiry, typically within one to two business days. With the approval of the respective attractions, CityPASS is happy to provide complimentary ticket booklets to credentialed journalists on assignment. Typically, CityPASS will provide two complimentary passes: one for the credentialed journalist and one for her/his guest. We regret that we cannot provide additional passes for other friends or family members. Can I get Southern California CityPASS media comps? The partner attractions in Southern California (Disneyland, LEGOLAND® California and SeaWorld San Diego) issue a limited number of Southern California CityPASS media comps per year. Journalists requesting passes must have a guaranteed media assignment and an assignment letter/email from their editor or publisher.




When submitting a request to the CityPASS Public Relations Department, please fill out the online request form completely. include 1) your letter of assignment, 2) your story plan/focus, and 3) examples of at least two bylined travel articles published within the last 12 months. Note: Southern California media comp requests may take up to 30 days to review and process. The CityPASS Public Relations Department will contact you as soon as your request has been processed. Can I get media comps for my entire family?The CityPASS partner attractions limit the number of media comps to two passes per media research tour: one for the visiting journalist and one for a guest. or at the first CityPASS attraction you visit. Do you offer media comps for children? All media comps are adult passes. However, children are welcome to use an adult CityPASS media comp if they are traveling with a working journalist. Can you add the Alcatraz option to my San Francisco CityPASS media comp?




The CityPASS Public Relations Department is happy to contact Alcatraz Tours to request complimentary media tickets for working journalists. Alcatraz Tours reserves the right to approve/not approve any journalist’s request. As space is limited on the Alcatraz Tour boats, requests are sometimes denied because the preferred tour is already sold out. Because the Alcatraz Tour option is only available when CityPASS ticket booklets are purchased on-site from Alcatraz Tours – and because all of the CityPASS media comps come from our main fulfillment office in another state – the Alcatraz Tour option cannot be pre-loaded onto any media comps. Are there any blackout dates on which the passes cannot be used?CityPASS ticket booklets may be activated (first used) on any day during the booklet’s validity window. (If the ticket booklets are for a contest or giveaway, the CityPASS Public Relations Department will let you know the validity window for the booklets. When first issued, passes are always valid for at least one year.)




Note: Once activated (first used), the holder has nine consecutive days to use the remaining tickets inside the CityPASS booklets. What’s the difference between a CityPASS media comp and a CityPASS promotional comp? Media comps may be used only by credentialed media representatives. Media comps are stamped “Complimentary | Journalists may be asked to provide a business card or media credentials when presenting their CityPASS media comp at an attraction. Promotional comps, which are not stamped “Business Card Required,” may be used for approved contests or giveaways. Contest winners who present a promotional comp at an attraction will not be asked to provide a business card. Can I use the CityPASS media comp ticket booklets I received for a contest or giveaway?Any non-journalist attempting to use a CityPASS media comp may be turned away from an attraction if she/he cannot provide a business card or media credentials. If you need CityPASS promotional comps, which are not stamped “Business Card Required,” for a contest or giveaway, contact the CityPASS Public Relations Department.




Prior to issuing the promotional comps, the CityPASS Public Relations Department will contact the attractions for approval. Can I get Southern California CityPASS media comps for a giveaway or promotion?The Southern California CityPASS attraction partners do no allow promotional comps of this pass. Can I donate my CityPASS media comp ticket booklets for a charitable fund-raiser or auction?Media comps cannot be resold or auctioned. CityPASS media comps are stamped “Complimentary | Any non-journalist who attempts to use a CityPASS media comp may be turned away from an attraction if she/he cannot provide a business card or media credentials. CityPASS ticket booklets are not available for charitable fund-raisers or auctions. The attractions, which retain legal ownership of the tickets inside each CityPASS ticket booklet, do not allow CityPASS to provide booklets for such purposes. Instead, they ask that all charitable requests go directly to their charitable giving departments.
