Trying to plan a family day out and the oldest teen isn't keen to do Legoland again this year. We'll be travelling from Tampa and would like to go to a big-ish mall where we can spend the day and meet up with smaller legolanders when they're finished. Typically prefer a mall with a few department store anchors and maybe Hollister/A&F/AE type stores for teenager. Hoping to meet for dinner afterwards so would prefer if we weren't too far West from them on the I4.

One destination mentioned in this post If you google "mall in winter haven fl", three possibilities come up. Spring Lake Square and Northridge Shopping Center are close to each other. Southeast Plaza is a little further. Don't know which shops are there though or how far they are from Legoland. Edited: 1:01 pm, June 21, 2015 I used to own a restaurant in Spring Lake Square and sold it because there is absolutely nothing there. I don't know where Northridge Shopping Center would be. You basically have three choices none of which would be ideal. I'll list them in the order I would recommend them: 1. Coming from Tampa, get off on Route 570, the Cross Polk Parkway. Take it to Lakeside Village which is probably the closest in terms of a center to what you are looking for. It is an outdoor center but that is no real problem. The problem is it is about 20 miles from LEGOLAND. 2. About 6 miles from LEGOLAND is Eagle Ridge Mall in Lake Wales on Route 27. It is completely enclosed and features Dillards, Sears and Penney's.

It is not overly prosperous but would give you the chance to wander, get a meal, and maybe take in a movie. 3. You can continue on I-4 to Davenport where it intersects with Route 27. There you will find Posner Park which is also about 20 miles from LEGOLAND. Plenty of choices for browsing and getting a meal but again outdoors with buildings spaced further apart. Just opened a new IMAX theater. “Not all those who wander are lost.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien Edited: 3:31 pm, June 21, 2015 2 destinations mentioned in this post Thanks for you help. I had a look and Lakeside Village looks best. Don't want to go further along the I4 if I can help it and Eagle Ridge shops don't look as teen friendly. is what came to my mind. It's very close, but, not particularly big. Not sure that there is a whole day there. "enroute from Tampa" There is a mall in Lakeland right off I-4. And other retail near / around it depending on which way you go.Are you dropping them off and picking them up?

Going back to Tampa after? Or on to Orlando? If you are dropping them off and staying in the Orlando area after there is a Legoland shuttle that goes to/from the park and I-Drive 360 Home of The Orlando Eye on International Drive. It's just $5 per person and the FAQ says "Can I buy a one-way Shuttle ticket? No, you can use your ticket as a one-way transfer but the price is for round trip travel." After dropping them off you could simply go on to the main attractions area in Orlando. Premium Outlets I-Drive and Mall at Millenia both are close to one another by car and also pretty close to the shuttle location. -:- Message from TripAdvisor staff -:-This topic has been closed to new posts due to inactivity.
