This web site was started in the last millennium when David was a very young boy. We had an annual pass and went to Legoland several times a year. Wonderful customer service especially when we had 2 very sick children. Buffet food was better than average. Cons: The lobby area is ALL loud and crazy. Would be nice to have a meal without having to listen to the craziness in the lobby area. We went on a Sunday and it was moderately crowded. Most of the rides my 7yr old wanted to go on were slow loading and really slow. He is not a roller coaster kid. Most of the rides were rides the parent had to go on with kids but were not really built for adults. It is diffintly not disney... Not worth the admission price - maybe if you have preschool kids and money to just spend - otherwise - waste of a day - in my opinion
We usually visit Disney but wanted something different for the grandkids 5 and 8. It was ok not the quality and service you get at Disney. The staff appearance was a bit sloppy and one staff member yelled at some kid in line to "stop that crap", not my grandkids or we would have had words. When I bought my... Our girls are 7 and 11 and we knew going in that it was geared for younger children. I only agreed to go because I found a deal for buy an adult ticket and receive a child ticket for free. We arrived at 9:45 for a 10:00 opening. Took 25 minutes to pay for parking and get parked. I was totally disappointed in the park. It needs a lot of repairing. They have a daytona raceway made with lego's. Two race cars only one worked. Found the displays to be dirty and in need of sprucing up. I remember though when it was Cypress Gardens. At least they still have a ski show. The Florida shaped pool, one of a kind, is still hidden and visitors cannot see it. If you're pregnant or a nursing or bottle feeding mom, there is a great, clean, air conditioned space for you to privately nurse, or heat up bottles and feed your infants. It is a one day park. His favorite thing to do there was the boat race. Campground With a View The bluff-top campground at South Carlsbad State Beach is the closest to LEGOLAND at 3 miles away. It’s open all year with limited service between November and March. RVs up to 35 feet are welcome, but the turns within the park are too tight for larger rigs. Dogs are allowed in the campground as long as they are leashed and not on the beach. These sites do not have hook-ups, but generators are allowed between certain hours. Reservations are advised, made through ReserveAmerica. Good Beach Access Oceanside is roughly 8 miles north of Carlsbad and has the next closest RV camping options.
Paradise by the Sea is a full-service RV resort with direct beach access. It is next to Buccaneer Park and Beach, a gathering spot for all ages with picnic areas, restrooms, a playground, basketball court and beach cafe. The campground has a swimming pool, hot tub and wireless Internet. All campsites have full hook-ups and some boast ocean views. This campground can handle the large bus-sized Class A rigs up to 50 feet. Dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed, and a daily fee is charged. Another option is the Oceanside RV Park. It’s farther from the beach but is less expensive. This park welcomes rigs of all sizes and dogs with the payment of a nightly fee, and has wireless Internet service. There isn't a pool, but you are roughly a 10-minute walk to the ocean. Inland Camping in Vista The Olive Avenue RV Resort is in the town of Vista, 10 miles east of Carlsbad. The inland, urban locale usually is hotter than near the ocean, but the park does have a swimming pool and spa. Vista is home to the Wave Water Park, another refreshing way to cool off.
The Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum is nearby. RVs of all sizes are welcome, and all sites have full hook-ups. Leashed dogs are welcome, with a maximum of two per site and breed and temperament restrictions; an additional fee is charged. Escondido – Countrified RV Camping Options Fifteen miles east of LEGOLAND is Escondido, another inland RV camping locale. Escondido RV Resort is a luxury campground covering 10 acres. It has everything from a heated outdoor pool to a clubhouse with a fireplace and a large-screen TV. The campground sits next to Ron McLeod City Park with its playground and hiking trails. RVs of all sizes are welcome as are two pets per unit with no additional fee. Champagne Lakes RV Resort is in more of rural setting, which includes three catch-and-release private fishing lakes. Pets are welcome as long as they are leashed. An additional charge applies, and there are breed restrictions. This is a wildlife-rich area so it is even more important to keep your furry family member under control.
