Life-sized Lego Star Wars X-wing starfighter unveiled in New York The largest Lego model ever assembled, the life-size X-wing starfighter is 42 feet long with a 44-foot-wide wingspan and took 32 builders more than a year Although built in the Czech Republic, the X-wing was unveiled to crowds of people in Times Square, New York. The model consists of 5,335,200 bricks of Lego and weighs 20 tons. Beneath the Lego is a steel skeleton. The X-wing also has a photo booth in the cockpit, engines that light up and a sound effects. After Sunday, it will then be installed at Legoland in California.
