Today, hot on the heels of last week’s new trailer for Captain America: Civil War, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment released a new LEGO Marvel’s Avengers video featuring characters from the recently released Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War Character Pack. Based on the film (hitting theaters on May 6, 2016), this add-on content is currently available as a FREE download exclusively for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 players. Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War Character Pack expands the game’s already impressive roster, featuring nine playable characters from the upcoming film, including Agent 13, Black Panther, Captain America, Crossbones, Falcon, Iron Man (Mark 46), Scarlet Witch, War Machine, and Winter Soldier.

LEGO Age of Ultron : War Machine MK II & Iron Man Mark 45 For the first (and hopefully not last) set of spinoff minifigures from my original Avengers: Age of Ultron lineup, I have War Machine in his MK II armor along with the Mark 45 suit that Tony used during the final act of the film! War Machine MK II:So if I had known that Rhodey was going to be suiting up during Avengers : Age of Ultron before the film’s release, I absolutely would have had him with the initial wave. However, it wasn’t until just prior to the movie’s launch that I found out, so I wasn’t able to start on this figure until the end of May after I had finished Dardevil. Anyway, both of these figures utilize the Amazing Armory MK 7 torso pieces as always, and it’s still an interesting challenge figuring out how to make them look like a completely different set of armor.
For War Machine here, that included me sculpting over the round arc reactor already engraved into the chest, and then painting my own to be as accurate as possible! Now some of you may condemn me for this, but the gun mounted on his shoulder is actually from one of Hasbro’s figures that they released for Age of Ultron. Initially, I had planned on using the same design from my Iron Patriot before realizing how size accurate the gun on their toy would be for my minifigure. The whole painting process was pretty smooth for this one, but it was definitely a bit challenging painting each one of the symbols you see decorated onto his armor. I even tried to fit the whole “ED 445” onto his left shoulder, but there simply wasn’t enough room as you might be able to tell. Rhodey has the same HUD design painted into his face mask but in green this time just like in the film. Iron Man Mark 45:To be honest, this is a minifigure that I was not planning on doing anytime soon. However, I decided to challenge myself in putting this one together in a timely fashion only so that War Machine wouldn’t be alone for the showcase video.
Unlike War Machine though, the Mark 45 suit is not 100% painted, as the top and middle portions of the legs are The LEGO Group’s printed design along with the eyes and forehead area. This isn’t a new concept of course; I’ve utilized their printed parts and blended them with my paintwork many times before. This suit also has the full HUD painted on the inside of the face mask, both his and War Machine’s can be seen during the showcase! Speaking of the face mask, the one you see above is actually the second version; the original’s eyes were actually a bit more accurate; but after a poll on Twitter, everyone decided in favor of this one which I completely understood given that it does make him stand out amongst other Iron Man suits I’ve made in the past. Aside from all of that though, the Mark 45 has the full treatment, and I tried to paint everything as accurate as I could :) These will most likely be my last Iron Man suits for a while, because now it’s time to move onto my Ant-Man wave and the Fantastic Four!

Killian is particularly evil looking, and the fact he glows in the dark is a nice touch. The boat is sturdy and not particularly difficult to build. It has a neat hidden storage section for stashing cargo, such as weapons. I am struggling to remember if the boat was in the movie or not, and sometimes Lego will make up a vehicle just to pad out a set. My 9 year old doesn't seem to mind, but I guess it might bother adult collectors if it's not "authentic" or true to the movie.In summary, two exclusive minifigs, Iron Man (Mk42 armour) and a decent vehicle make this a great set, particularly when combined with LEGO Super Heroes 76007: Iron Man Malibu Mansion Attack.
