LUNI (LEGO Universe Newly Imagined, previously an acronym for LEGO Universe or Leggendary Universe Nations Iperspace) is a not-for-profit effort by fans creating a server emulator for the MMOG LEGO Universe, written in C++ utilizing RakNet and MySQL, as well as other tools for the web-based management interface. LEGO Universe, a game developed by NetDevil in partnership with The LEGO Group and distributed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, launched on October 26th, 2010, and closed on January 30, 2012, with news of the closure coming a few months earlier. At this point, users actively looked for possibilities for the game to be preserved. Eventually, the LUNI Server Project was formed, and later was granted limited permission (view e-mail) from The LEGO Group to continue the project. Around August 2013, a large scale disagreement started, focused around the re-hosting of the LUNI Server software. This caused a severe split in the community (most notably among the developers, many of whom decided to work on further development privately).
This persisted until the middle of 2015, when in early June a series of agreements and understandings caused the LUNI Server Project to be re-understood, re-represented, and relaunched in a way where development would be much easier and a community could be effectively formed. Für “Lego Universe” hat der Entwickler NetDevil eine fantastische Online-Welt entworfen, die von den vielen LEGO-Fans aus aller Welt noch ausgebaut werden kann und soll. LEGO Universe: Das war’s Bis zum 30.01.2012 um Mitternacht konnten sich alle LEGO-Fans seelisch darauf einstellen, dass LEGO Universe eingestellt werden würde. Das MMORPG in der kreativen Welt der gelben Klötzchen-Köpfe ist passé. Die Rückerstattung für alle Abonennten ist abgeschlossen, doch um welchen Preis?Ganz einfach: Das Spielprinzip von LEGO Universe teilte sich zwischen MMORPG-Erfahrung in den vorgegebenen Welten und dem Sandkasten-Prinzip des Kreativ-Modus. Da erstere allerdings bereits nach wenigen Stunden von der Vielzahl der Spieler abgeschlossen werden konnte, kamen die Entwickler kaum hinterher, neue Welten zu entwickeln.
Allzu groß war der Aufwand, neue Welten zu erschaffen und zu implementieren, damit der Langzeitspielspaß bestehen bleibt.Eine ausführliche Stellungnahme dazu findet ihr im FAQ von LEGO.Als Alternativen bieten sich allerdings die vielen anderen Spiele der LEGO-Welt, die leider aber keinen Online-Modus besitzen.LEGO Universe: Eine Welt voll LEGO “LEGO Universe” besteht aus zusammengesetzten Teilen der verschiedenen LEGO-Welten und vereint Piraten, Ritter, Ninjas, Drachen, Roboter und viele andere Geschöpfe. Darüber hinaus können auch im Spiel viele neue Welten freigeschaltet und gestaltet werden. Somit ist die Anzahl an Spielwelten innerhalb von “LEGO Universe” nahezu grenzenlos.Diese Vielfalt und Dynamik macht den Reiz des LEGO-Onlinespiels aus, zumal es im Spiel darum geht, die Mächte des Chaos zu besiegen und die Vorstellungskraft zu beschützen und zu fördern. Kaum eine Methode ist dafür besser geeignet, als seiner Kreativität in der wunderbar abwechslungsreichen Welt der Lego-Steine freien Lauf zu lassen.
Der PC-Release von “Lego Universe” ist für den 29. Ob und wann es eine spielbare Demo geben wird ist aktuell noch nicht bestätigt, sofern es aber eine kostenlose Testversion geben wird ist diese hier bei Funload zu finden. Eine ersten Eindruck vermitteln schon jetzt die unten abgebildeten Screenshots und Trailer-Videos.
