My neighbor, Andee, and I combined forces to throw a combined Lego party for her son, Kruz, and Caleb. We started off with invitations that we found here. Can I just say how much I LOVE Pinterest!?! We had planned on the boys jumping in a bounce house, but at last minute it didn’t look like we would be able to, because of the wind. Never fear – Pinterest is here! First off, our handsome birthday boys! I am old school without any special cutting machines but I did want to make them shirts for their big day.

I printed this Lego guy onto printable t-shirt transfers. If you are interested in the Lego guy you can download him here: I printed them onto the fabric transfer paper and then cut him out – this was important! I did one first without the cutting him out and it left a big yucky square of white. The second try I cut them out and ironed them on following the instructions. They were pretty happy with them, and so was Mom! For the decor we kept it pretty simple. We made a bunting from a great download from Winks & Daisies. I added in a few plain flags I created myself, because I was too lazy to cut that many Lego men out! We had the Lego table out in the middle of the room with all sorts of Lego’s. That was great as the guests were arriving to keep them busy and happy! We had a bunch of games due to the fact that we couldn’t do the bounce house. Guess how many Lego’s… Competition to build the tallest tower in 1 minute…The printable can be found at Big D &Me!

It’s like Pictionary, but you build Lego’s instead of drawing. For treats we had Lego juice boxes:We found the cute toppers at Skip to my Lou. We let the boys frost them themselves! Andee taught me something new. – add a small box of pudding to your cupcakes – HOLY COW they were so good! So good, that I liked them better without frosting! For the record this tip (found on Pinterest) really does work to make cupcakes bake bigger and fluffier! We sent each boy home with a goodie bag. We found the topper at Cleo Livin’ Life. While we were in CA I had gone to the Lego store and filled a bucket of all sorts of car parts and fun Lego pieces to fill the bags with. If you can get to a Lego store it really is a bargain. I did all of the goodie bags, plus the extra Lego’s for the guess the Lego Game for under $15. We got lucky and the wind eased up just enough for them to bounce around for a little bit! The kids had a great time and that was the most important thing!

It’s so busy in December and I was grateful for all the free printables and great ideas out there to make it a little easier! If you love Legos, you will want to check these posts out!
