(A teaser for the teaser. The new teaser trailer for #TheHobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies will be unveiled tomorrow at 12pm PT / 3pm ET! — The Hobbit (@TheHobbitMovie) July 27, 2014 Posted in Hobbit Movie, The Hobbit, The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Trailer on July 27, 2014 bySome of you may already know that The LEGO Batman Movie isn't the only LEGO film coming out in theaters this year. Warner Bros. already has The LEGO Ninjago Movie cooking up, and now they've released the first tantalizing teaser trailer and three official stills. Directed by Charlie Bean (Tron: Uprising), the new brick-building animated film stars Dave Franco, Justin Theroux, Fred Armisen, Abbi Jacobson, Olivia Munn, Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Peña, Zach Woods and Jackie Chan (Yess!). Original LEGO Movie helmers Phil Lord and Chris Miller are serving as producers. Being a fan of The LEGO Movie, you can imagine how excited I am for not only Batman's upcoming not-so-solo adventure (coming out this Friday, BTW) but this new LEGO Ninjago film as well.
As you can see in the short teaser trailer below, the movie will feature the same brand of humor that's been a staple of every LEGO movies (and video games) so far, and is set to take us on an awesome adventure with fun new characters. Here's an extended synopsis: In this big-screen NINJAGO adventure, the battle for NINJAGO City calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret ninja warriors. Led by Master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat evil warlord Garmadon, The Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad. Pitting mech against mech and father against son, the epic showdown will test this fierce but undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas who must learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash their inner power of Spinjitzu. Jackie Chan stars as Master Wu; Justin Theroux is Garmadon; Dave Franco plays Lloyd; and Olivia Munn is Lloyd’s mom, Koko. Making up the secret ninja crew, Fred Armisen voices Cole;
Abbi Jacobson plays Nya; Kumail Nanjiani is Jay; Michael Peña is Kai; and Zach Woods voices Zane. The LEGO Ninjago Movie will arrive in theaters on Sept. 22. The movie is a wonderful surprise, cleverly written and executed brick by brick with a visual panache. January 3, 2015 | Lord and Miller's sensibilities are continually clever, and The Lego Movie works hard to gradually deliver surprising payoffs to what seem to be throwaway bits. The Lego Movie has enough wit and wisdom to send a recession-age message to families on the importance of thinking through problems with creativity. As a rule, movies about toys need to be approached with extreme caution; some of them have been bad enough to count as health hazards. This one is the exception. March 3, 2014 | This is truly a movie that children and their parents can both enjoy for different reasons.
