Smaug the Dragon is the main antagonist of 1937 classic novel The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien and its Peter Jackson films 2012-2014. He appears in the The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies set 79018 The Lonely Mountain in 2014. Smaug was a dragon in the Third Age. One of the last of his kind, Smaug demolished Dale, and captured Erebor, the Lonely Mountain, from the Dwarves. For about two hundred years, Smaug hoarded Erebor's treasures before a company of dwarves led by Prince Thorin Oakenshield made their way back to the mountain along with Hobbit Bilbo Baggins. Bilbo entered to find and retrieve the arkenstone and bring to Thorin. The wizard Gandalf the Grey had departed from the company and left for Dol Guldur. Bilbo snuck into the treasure hoard but Smaug awakened and eventually found him. After a discussion, Smaug revealed that he was aware of Bilbo's intentions and attempted to kill him, but Bilbo used the One Ring to hide again and managed to escape. Smaug found Thorin and the dwarves and they battled fiercely until Smaug realized that the dwarves were being aided by the Lake-men of Lake-Town.

Smaug was distracted by Thorin, who unveiled a large golden statue that they had forged during the battle. They used the gold to distract Smaug due to his greed of gold long enough for the statue to melt into golden pools that they used to try and drown Smaug in it. This strategy failed as Smaug burst out of the streams of gold, shook off all the gold and flew into the sky, heading for Lake-Town, intending to destroy it. As Bilbo remains horrified at the result in their quest, Smaug quoted "I am fire! Smaug then made his way to Lake-Town and attacked the city and killed many of the soldiers fighting there. However, Smaug had a weak spot, which was a missing scale from his breast. A soldier named Bard shot a black arrow at Smaug's weak spot, killing the mighty dragon. Smaug's falling corpse landed on a boat which was carrying the Master of the town. This act signaled both the ends of Smaug and Esgaroth.Do not modify it. The vast and arrogant fire drake Smaug is the last great dragon known to live in Middle-earth.

Craving wealth and treasure, he drove the Dwarves of Erebor from the Lonely Mountain and turned their golden kingdom into his own lair, destroying the nearby town of Dale in the process. He has slumbered surrounded by his priceless horde for almost two centuries, but now the Hobbit burglar Bilbo Baggins has awakened him and unleashed his terrible and vengeful wrath. Blaming the citizens of Lake-town for helping Bilbo and his friends in The Company of Dwarves, mighty Smaug has left his mountain home at last, and is intent on destroying the helpless town below with his flames. Bilbo’s adventure may be over, but yours doesn’t have to be! You can still explore Middle-Earth and play as Lord of the Rings characters in LEGO DIMENSIONS™! Lego The Hobbit is a Lego-themed action-adventure video game developed by Traveller's Tales. The game was released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on 8 April 2014 in North America, and 11 April in Europe. The game is a follow-up to Lego The Lord of the Rings based on the first two Hobbit films An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug.[1] It was released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, OS X and Microsoft Windows. 3 The Battle of the Five Armies The game shows several features from the previous games, including a feature where the user should locate specific materials to build a big Lego object.

When the user selects and input the correct materials a screen is displayed where the Lego machine is built and the player should select the correct pieces in exchange for studs. Also the characters have different actions to perform, making the Dwarf Company a group with different capabilities during the mission, including someone with archery abilities, another that uses a big hammer that can move big objects, another with the ability to extract minerals from stones, and so on. Bilbo improves his abilities as the game advances: when he gains Sting he has the ability to be a more skilled fighter; and when he gets the One Ring he can disappear and build invisible Lego structures. The game, similar to the latest Lego video games, is composed on a big map, rather than a single hub. The player can move among different events where different characters ask the player to retain a specific material from a mission or to exchange materials. Much like its predecessors, the game presents storylines from the The Hobbit films: An Unexpected Journey and Desolation of Smaug. However, the developers modified the storylines to fit the events into a number of game chapters per film, as well as adding the humour the series has become known for. It was reported at the London Toy Fair in January 2014 that a DLC would be released covering the events of the final film in The Hobbit series, to be released around the time of the film at the end of that year.[3] However, no DLC was released. Over a year later, in a correspondence with GameSpot it was revealed that, despite no actual cancellation of the DLC, there were no longer any plans to adapt the film as a DLC, nor to adapt it as another game. Similar to Lego The Lord of the Rings, Lego The Hobbit features talking minifigures. The dialogue is taken directly from the films. Additional voices were provided by Tim Bentinck, Liz May Brice, Clare Corbett, Duncan Duff, Daniel Fine, Joel Fry, Jenny Galloway, Andy Gathergood, Anna Koval, Jonathan Kydd, Steve Kynman, Jamie Lee, Andy Linden, Sara Beck Mather, James Naylor, Emma Pierson, Jason Pitt, Richard Ridings, Emma Tate, and Marcia Warren.
