The Health Bar is the location where the Character's Hearts are located. Each Franchise has a different Health Bar. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find ThemContinuing our Hobbit set reviews, today we review one of the more interesting sets in the line, Attack of the Wargs (79002). This along with the other sets are scheduled to be released November 27, 2012 but I found them at Walmart after Black Friday. This set contains 400 pieces and retails for $49.99, which comes to $0.12/piece. You get one instruction booklet, three numbered bags, and two separately bagged Wargs. There are five minifigures included in the set, Thorin Oakshield, Bifur the Dwarf, Yazneg, and two Hunter Orcs, with one that could be Fimbul the Hunter. Thorin has some extremely nice blue printing on both sides of the torso, especially the printing for his belt. He has a double-sided head with the same stern/angry look as we’ve seen as the other Hobbit sets. His accessories include a sword and an axe. Bifur the Dwarf has a light brown torso and a short brown cape with short, dark brown legs.

His hair and beard is connected as one new piece that is exclusive to this minifigure. Bifur also has a double-sided face with one side happy and the other side stern. For his accessory, he gets a spear. Yazneg is a new character introduced in An Unexpected Journey. His torso piece has some pretty interesting printing. Over the torso, he has some sort of bone armor, which looks very good. He has a very vicious looking head piece. Yazneg’s weapon is a bone axe. He also has a white Warg as his mount. More on that later. The two Hunter Orcs are the same minifigures except for their weapon choice. One has a bow and arrow and a quiver while the other has a large jagged sword. These Orcs are similar to the ones in the Orc Forge set besides some subtle differences. The Orc with the sword could also be another new character named Fimbul the Hunter. If he is, he rides the grey Warg alongside Yazneg. There are two Wargs in the set, a grey and white one. These Wargs are some of best looking animal figures I’ve seen.

There are two points of articulation, one at the neck and one at the lower part of the jaw. The neck can pivot both up and down. The mouth can lock in a constant open or closed position. The Wargs also have a 1×2 brick that you can remove to add a saddle for Yazneg and a Hunter Orc to ride on if you wish. For the first part of the build, you put together a rock rock formation on some nice green plates. There is a nice big slope piece for the Wargs to perch on. There is also a skull and a bone probably leftover from a passerby who had some bad luck. Further along the rock formation, you build a small catapult with two round projectile pieces. There are also some small fire pieces to add detailing to the set. The last two bags are for the tree part of the set. Bag 2 was used to build the base and the second level of the tree. One nice feature of the tree is that in the centers of the trunk are on a turntable brick which you can swivel the tree to different positions to give it a different view.

For Bag 3, you build up the rest of the tree which ends up being pretty tall. The amount of green and olive colored leaves makes the tree from a good, turning tree to one of the best trees I’ve seen in a set. Some other small features include a couple of flick fire push bricks to make it seem that the Dwarves are tossing bombs at the Orcs. Some other decorative pieces are some mushrooms at the base of the tree and a gold nugget. Overall, this 400 piece Attack of the Wargs set is worth every penny. The minifigs are exclusive to the set and you get some great looking ones like Thorin and Yazneg. The tree is fairly large with lots of little details. The main attraction and possibly the best part of the set are the Warg pieces. Without reading the book or watching the movie, as of this writing, you can kind of see what is happening in the story. I would recommend picking up this medium priced set.
