BB-8 Comes with attachable arms for both his Electric Zapper and Thumbs-up Torch abilities BB-8 has a desert base station that uses a turn crank to demonstrate his rolling ability The base station has a compartment to hold BB-8's accessories

This unique BB-8 was designed with the primary goal of being able to move with his head staying up on top.  The entire model was made using 100% Genuine Lego parts.  His shells were of course carefully painted (and if this model is approved and created by Lego, the parts would come printed as so many Lego parts are).  Inside you'll find Lego weights suspended from the central axle that bolster up two Lego magnets.  Those magnets are held up close to the top of the ball and attract the two magnets built into BB-8's head.  The head uses a cockpit dome (painted), hinge parts, and the smallest Lego wheels to skate on top of the body.  The body's shell started out as Tatooine from the Lego Star Wars Planet series.  The total part count is around 180 pieces. This Rolling BB-8 is super fun to fidget with, roll about, and satisfies a midpoint between static model and full on electric RC.  It would make a great addition to any Lego or Star Wars Fan's collection! This design was created as a joint project of  mjsmiley and artbot138.

We have been working on this design for some time now, and hope to see it come to Lego Life! Today we wrap up the LEGO Star Wars 2015 Advent Calendar (75097) of the planet Tatooine with something that’s fit for it. On the fifth day, we have the mini Sandcrawler. It contains 21 pieces and uses various shades of brown to achieve its look. The bottom area uses some Technic pieces for the treads as well as the steering portion of the vehicle. Overall, this is a great representation of the Sandcrawler and a fitting end to the Tatooine theme for the LEGO Star Wars 2015 Advent Calendar.

What will the next few days hold for us next? You’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out.Be notified when it's back in stock. Build a classic Star Wars Sandcrawler for your Jawas and Droids with this large LEGO offering. As we learned from the film, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, the 'real' Sandcrawler was a mining vehicle used on the planet Tatooine until later abandoned by the corporations that deployed them as the resources found were of low grade. The hulking, slow-moving vehicles were extremely rugged in order to stand up to harsh conditions, and therefore, once abandoned, made ideal homes for natives such as the Jawas. The Sandcrawler features a large armored body, offering the Jawas protection from attackers and plenty of space inside for their workshops (the Jawas are junk scavengers). The LEGO model mimics the sheer size of the Sandcrawler with a total of 1695 building elements, many in realistic rust tones in order to simulate the sand-battered hulk of the vehicle from the movies.

The set builds four large double-tracked tank style treads for that correct look. A knob on the back of the finished model 'steers' the vehicle by rotating the rearward set of treads. There is also a large opening tailgate / rampway that opens at the front of the crawler in order to load cargo aboard, plus a separate working boom crane. Finally, there is a lift-out control center room in the midsection with detailed consoles and tools (a panel in the roof is removable to access this area and is replaceable with the boom crane module if desired). In order to recreate the scene from A New Hope, LEGO includes a C-3PO minifigure and an R2-D2 droid minifigure. There are other LEGO Star Wars minifigures in this set, such as three Jawas with brown hoods covering haunting yellow eyes, and cloth capes, an Owen Lars minifig, an R5-D4 droid, an ASP droid, and three other buildable droids, namely a Gonk, R1-G4, and Treadwell. Counting all of the droids built with the set, there are 11 LEGO Star Wars minifigures altogether, as shown in the ToysPeriod LEGO set reference.

This is a very hard-to-find offering from the 2005 Star Wars series of sets. There is a 96 page full-color instruction manual included which shows how to build the Sandcrawler step-by-step.As this is a very complicated and detailed model, it is generally suggested for experienced builders aged 13 and up.The ToysPeriod Toy Tech team has carefully inspected this set. It is brand new, factory sealed. The box is in rare mint condition. All of the photos show the actual LEGO set that you will receive. As with every collectible that ToysPeriod sells, this LEGO 10144 Sandcrawler set will be professionally packed to ensure safe delivery to your door. /2012/05/22/review-9675-sebulbas-podracer-tatooine/ on this server. Your technical support key is: 3697-f4d1-1756-6707 The Best Lego Star Wars Sets You Can Buy Right NowYoung Han Solo: What We Know So Far When Disney and Kathleen Kennedy took over the Star Wars franchise in 2012, Kathleen and Force Awakens director JJ Abrams were asked if any already existing planets would appear in future films.

Abrams told fans that no existing planets would show up, at least in his film. But that is not to say others would not show up in other installments. Though, Kathleen made it pretty clear that they want to explore new reaches of the galaxy and let the writers explore new territory and create new canon. This is all well and good for the future films, but I still want closure for some of our favorite planets. Here I take a look back at some crucial moments from the original saga and wonder if we will ever step foot on these planets again. Five thousand years before the battle of Yavin, the once enslaved Massassi warriors (now extinct) were the ones who built the large temples that reside throughout the lush moon of Yavin 4. It wasn’t until the Rebel Alliance needed a base to form a plan of attack against the Empire that they would lay down camp inside the vacant shrines. It was the very location where the Rebels would meet Jyn Erso. She was given the task to reconnect with her father and retrieve the plans of the Death Star to push forth the Rebels efforts in taking down the Empire.

This entail helps Luke Skywalker destroy the Death Star and begin to bring peace to the galaxy After the Empires battle station was destroyed, the Rebels fled to a new location in the galaxy. An ice covered tundra called Hoth. With temperatures dropping to -60°C come nightfall, the Rebels felt this would be a safe spot to lay low after the battle of Yavin. They were sorely mistaken. The Empire invaded with improved AT-AT’s to take out the Rebel’s base generator, creating one of the series most iconic scenes. Wildlife on the planet included two-legged creatures called Tauntaun’s, which would act as transportation around the planet. These were more docile creatures compared to the ferocious, man-eating Wampa’s. Jedi Luke Skywalker, along with his Tauntaun had a run in with a ferocious Wampa that took the life of his steed and almost his own, if it wasn’t for Han Solo quickly coming to his rescue. One of the poorest planets in the galaxy is steeped in the most lore of dealing with the Jedi.

Tatooine is the home of; not just young Jedi Luke Skywalker, but also his father Anakin Skywalker. The planet is a desert wasteland full of all different kinds of races. Most of these species are scavengers, where others like Luke’s aunt and uncle are farmers just trying to get by on the sweltering planet. This is where young Anakin Skywalker finds his passion for a sport called Podracing. A deal made with a mysterious Jedi by the name of Qui-Gon Jin helps Anakin leave the planet to peruse his life as a Jedi. Years later, Jin’s apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi would return to the world with Anakin’s two highly gifted offsprings to be put into hiding from the Empire. Here Obi-Wan would reside, looking after young Luke in secret. Once Luke’s immediate family is tracked down and murdered by the Empire, he decides to go with Obi-wan who will train him in the ways of the force. From here we get to see a lot of what makes up Tatooine as Luke, Obi-Wan and their droid companions drive through Mos Eisley.

A dirty city full of traders and scavengers. Our heroes enter a cantina that is a wretched hive of scum and villainy. Here they meet Han Solo and his co-pilot Chewbacca who help them leave the sun blasted planet. While the actual planet of Endor is just a big ball of gas, one of the nine moons of Endor homed two unusual species. The first is the rarely scene Yuzzum (one can be seen singing in Max Rebo’s band) and the other are man-eating teddy bears called Ewoks. Posing zero threat to the Empire, plans were made to hide out on the forest moon while constructing the second Death Star and generate a shield that would defend massive weapon during it’s building phase. Luckily with the help of the Rebellion and the planet’s furry friends, they were able to take down the Empire once and for all, taking down the shield generator and destroying the Imperial base. After a great battle involving Vader, Luke, and Palpatine. This ends up being the final resting place of Darth Vader as his body is burned as his children look on.

Home of the galactic capital. And Emperor Palpatine himself. In the re-edits, we first get to see a bit of the capital as the citizens pull down a large statue of the Emperor. It wasn’t until Episode I when we get to view a lot more of the capital itself. Like Tatooine, the planet has scummy cantina of its own. Just a bit more on the posh side. Swindlers, drug dealers and con artists alike reside here looking for the next chump to swindle. In Episode II Padme sleeps quietly as a Bounty Hunter tries to execute the Queen. Quick actions from Anakin save the queen as he and his master Obi-Wan go on a high-speed chase through the city above. We see lots of flying traffic and intense neon advertisements throughout the city. Sadly, before LucasArts was shut down. A video game titled Star Wars 1313 was in development. It was to explore the seedy planet through the eyes of Boba Fett. Sadly, this never came to be once Disney acquired the Star Wars license. A swamp planet that is home to many interesting creatures.

But very little homestead. Luke Skywalker see’s a vision of Obi-Wan who tells him to visit the planet and seek out a Jedi Master who went into hiding by the name of Yoda. He is said to help train him to defeat Darth Vader. Luke’s landing is a bit rough, and the dark swamp ends up swallowing his X-Wing. We also see a large creature pull R2-D2 into the black lagoon and spit him out as if it’s nothing. Once Luke reunites with R2 and finds Yoda, he is not what he imagined. Though looks can be deceiving, Yoda helps Luke in his efforts to battle the dark side. He is taken to a cave where Luke must face his fears, creating one of the eeriest scenes in the entire saga. The planet houses a massive amount of dark energy, which makes sense why Yoda would flee to the planet to stay incognito from Vader and other Sith alike. High above the clouds of Bespin floats a Tibanna gas mining colony and civilization simply known as Cloud City. Lando Calrissian was the baron administrator of the colony and is an old friend of Han and Chewbacca’s.

The civilization of Cloud City Bespin is made up of tourists, employees, and minors. The luscious views, cloud car trips, gambling and breathable oxygen, make Cloud City one of the most beautiful places in the galaxy to visit. Bespin has always tried to steer clear from troubles with the Empire. Unfortunately, trouble finds them when Lando’s old friends Han & Chewbacca show up with a few others. Although the old swindler makes a deal with the Empire to turn over Han in frozen carbonate and the Jedi Luke Skywalker, all is not lost as Lando looks out for his friends old and new, along with evacuating the city and getting his people to safety. It is here on Cloud City that Luke finds out that Vader is his father and looses his hand. So even though we may not see any of these classic planets, cities, and moons continuing in the Star Wars legacy (minus the prequels), It’s nice to look back on the old planets that started it all. Honestly, I am totally fine with moving forward since we get to see great new worlds like Eadu, a planet with intense weather patterns or Scariff, a planet full of luscious beaches.
