Prime members get access to lightning deals 30 minutes ahead of regular shoppers. Hundreds of British businesses, selling on Amazon Marketplaces, are also participating in Black Friday Deals Week for the first time this year, which means that there will be more items to chose from. While more than 5.5 million items were sold at a rate of around 64 items per second on Black Friday in 2014, the online retail giant expects this year to be even better. “This year, we have more than 20 times the number of deals we had in 2010 when we first introduced Black Friday to the UK and we’re expecting record numbers of customers to take advantage,” said Christopher North, managing director.
