To celebrate Star Wars Day (I love celebrating by breaking things) this is a video from WIRED of an $800, 16-hour build LEGO Star Destroyer nose-diving into the ground at 1,000 frames per second. I like how they point out all the Star Wars minifigs that go flying, I feel like that was a nice touch. What did you do for Star Wars Day? My roommate and I grilled a tauntaun and watched the original trilogy. I think later we're gonna paint two PVC pipes to look like lightsabers and beat the shit out of each other in the parking garage. Keep going for the video, then get out there and smash something yourself. You'll be glad you did. Thanks to LookyLoo, who reminded me Cinco de Mayo is tomorrow and I need to go get a pinata tonight. My Cup Runneth Over With No: Worm Shoots Disgusting Spiderman Webbing Onto Dude's Hand Flaming Bagpiper Balances On BB-8 Droid Ball And Performs The Star Wars ThemeEvery year, May the 4th, or Star Wars Day, gets bigger and bigger, and LEGO never misses out on a chance to drive more LEGO Star Wars sales.

For the past several years, LEGO has offered a free exclusive giveaway on May 4, and this year is no exception. This year’s promotional giveaway will be an exclusive microscale Ghost White X-Wing set, free with LEGO Star Wars purchases of $199 or more. The offer should be valid in stores and online. Datumet är valt genom en ordvits med den kända Star Wars-frasen ”May the force be with you”, som blivit till frasen: ”May the Fourth (4th) be with you”, där ”May the Fourth” då refererar till den 4 maj. May the Fourth be with you, Maggie.

I ett uttalande i tidningen New York Daily News sa en talesman för Lucasfilms: "It's nice that this particular date seems to observe and celebrate the power of the Force and we're thrilled that Star Wars fans continue to find new ways to connect with a galaxy far, far away."

"Revenge of the Sixth" syftar på titeln till Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. A new Star Wars film (you may have heard something about that) means one very important thing -- new Star Wars Lego.As part of its "Force Friday" reveal, Disney has shown off a whole slate of new merchandise to tie in with the upcoming Episode VII: The Force Awakens. The top of the line is, appropriately enough, a new Millennium Falcon. While it look's like Han's classic hunk of junk, it's based on the version we'll see on screen come December, with a few upgrades that have been added over the years.

It comes with seven minifigs, including a greying Han Solo, a seemingly unaged Chewbacca, new hero Finn, and the adorable BB-8 droid. Despite the simplicity, BB-8 is still comprised of multiple pieces.Mysterious villain Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle is equally impressive, a highly-detailed ship that looks to be an evolution of the Empire's shuttles in the classic trilogy. It packs in tons of hidden spaces thanks to multiple opening bay doors, features extending wings, and several missile launchers. This set packs in six minifigs -- Ren, General Hux, and four First Order troopers. The First Order gets the bulk of the line, in fact. Beyond Kylo Ren's personal vessel, Lego is producing sets based on the Trooper Transporter, a ground vehicle that 'hovers' and comes with Captain Phasma, the new Flametroopers and redesigned Stormtroopers as minifigs; a smaller Snowspeeder, with three troopers; and the First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter. This beast drops the all-black look of the originals for a sinister black and red body with white wings, and comes with an entire crew of minifigs.

The heroes get some fresh focus too though. A revamped X-Wing with a sleek black and orange paint job, set to be piloted in the film by Poe Dameron, is another big set for the Force Awakens line. It's structurally similar to previous Lego X-Wings, but its X-foils can be opened with a twist of a well-camoflaged fob, and comes with minifigs of Poe, resistance members, and another BB-8. Female hero Rey gets a spotlight set too, with a new Speeder. A red hoverbike type vehicle, it has hidden storage and firing weapons, plus a detachable sled. It's not just vehicles Lego is creating for The Force Awakens though. The Danish toymaker is releasing buildable character figures from across the Star Wars saga. Set to retail between £14.99 and £29.99, these giant-sized kits allow you to build ridiculously articulated versions of iconic heroes and villains. The new line launches with characters from the prequel and classic trilogies, from Jango Fett and young Obi-Wan Kenobi, to Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader.
