BI 3004 60-75136 V29 [3.24 Mb] BI 3004 60-75136 V39 [3.24 Mb]Today we’ve been passed a collection of 6 posters and a teaser for the upcoming epic: LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales. These images are the same as a set of Star Wars posters that’ll be given to attendees of Star Wars Celebration 2015 and the LEGO Star Wars Droid Tales panel this Friday. On that panel will be Michael Price, Michael Donovan, and Jason Cosler, all speaking about this epic LEGO-based re-telling of the Star Wars saga through the eyes of C-3PO and R2-D2. If the original telling of the Star Wars saga through the eyes of the droids – just like it aught to be – wasn’t enough for you, here’s another. This Star Wars Droid Tales collection of mini-movie / episodes will be released later this year, all LEGO, all the time. UPDATE: Droid Tales will be coming this July! Much in the same way the Star Wars Rebels tv show has been released thus far, Droid Tales will be coming to Disney XD. From there it’ll be released in digital form to the Disney website and eventually to DVD, Blu-Ray, and multi-platform digital availability like the full Star Wars saga is now.

In addition to the six movie posters (inspired by the original Drew Struzan creations), you’ll find a single Droid Tales poster. This poster will be on the back of every one of the other six. Above you’ll see all six posters and the teaser in full-sized form. Download and print at will! For those of you aiming to nab one or all of these posters in full LEGO-printed glossy form, you’ll have to either be in attendance at the celebration in Anaheim OR head to your local LEGO brand retail store on May the 4th. The LEGO store online will have a “chance to collect a new poster each month” soon as well – we’ll hear more about how in the near future. The series retells the story of the live-action Star Wars films, from Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace through Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, as well as an adaptation of the Star Wars Rebels episode "Droids in Distress", and a Clone Wars mission created entirely for the show, all from the perspectives of C-3PO and R2-D2.

LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales began shortly after the Battle of Endor. C-3PO and R2-D2 tell those assembled around them about the story that led them both to the battle. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "an accidental kidnapping leads to a new adventure that progresses to the re-telling of the saga in the chronological order, starting from The Phantom Menace to Return of the Jedi." The mini-series was announced by The Hollywood Reporter on February 27, 2015. The first episode of the series aired on Disney XD on July 6, 2015 in the lead-up to the release of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens on December 18. ↑ 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5 1.6 1.7 Kit, Borys (February 27, 2015). Retrieved on February 27, 2015.With Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales set to debut on Disney XD next week, the network has released the first trailer and four new photos from the animated TV series, featuring some of our favorite Star Wars characters.

The photos give us our first look at LEGO versions of Yoda, R2-D2, C-3PO, Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Emperor, while the trailer offers fans some alternate takes on some of the franchise's more memorable moments, including a much different fate for Jar-Jar Binks. The series will consist of five 22-minute episodes, debuting Monday, July 6 at 6:30 PM on Disney XD.As its title suggests, Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales is a re-telling of the Star Wars universe through the eyes of C3P0 and R2D2. Following their victory celebration in the Ewok village on Endor, seen at the close of Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, C-3PO and R2-D2 have gathered to regale Luke, Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca and the other Rebels with the tales of their adventures that led to the events of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. An accidental kidnapping occurs while the droids are reminiscing and suddenly viewers are taken on a new adventure that leads to encounters with familiar faces and places that prompt the re-telling of the entire saga.

The series offers all of the playful humor that viewers expect from LEGO Star Wars. After the premiere on July 1, which focuses on Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace and Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, new episodes will roll out each month, leading up to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The second episode covers the TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, while the original trilogy movies Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi will each get their own individual episodes. Check out the trailer and photos from Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales to get ready for the July 6 premiere. Before Star Wars: The Force Awakens comes to theaters on December 18, we’ll get to see a new take on the six existing Star Wars films. Don’t worry: Lucasfilm and Disney aren’t releasing new special editions with further edits (as far as we know). No, they’re turning the saga into bricks with LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales.

The animated series will retell the story of Episode I – Episode VI with five 22-minute episodes and will air on Disney XD sometime before the release of The Force Awakens. LEGO and Star Wars go together like chocolate and peanut butter. Besides the physical toys and video games, there’s been the humorous LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles limited series and a couple other LEGO specials that aired on Cartoon Network. All were penned by Michael Price, and based on recent tweets from Price, he’s also on board for Droid Tales. The series will be told from the perspective of C-3PO and R2-D2. When the story starts, the Rebels have just claimed victory on Endor. C-3PO and R2-D2 are sharing stories about their adventures (probably mostly C-3PO because we know how hard it is to make him shut up), and while they talk about everything that led them to the Battle of Endor, a new adventure leads to the retelling of everything that happened from The Phantom Menace to Return of the Jedi.
