DarthJarJar)submitted by General Grievous and his body guards are an exception since they do that shit with mechanical body parts. - 4 years 11 months ago EditBasics Character Types LEGO Star Wars features many characters, but they can be generally categorized under the following types: Jedi - The characters who are skilled in the ways of the Force and in the art of the lightsaber. They can double jump, and they can deflect blaster shots with their lightsabers (by pressing the Attack Button just as a projectile is about to hit them). Jedi, whether light or dark, can use the Force to construct platforms, flip switches, and manipulate other objects in various ways. However, certain objects can only be manipulated by Dark Jedi. Some examples of Jedi are Yoda, Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Darth Maul. Blaster-Type - The characters who use blasters or bowcasters.

Besides being able to hit enemies from a distance, they can shoot target switches to open some doors. Most blaster-type characters also carry grappling hooks, which they can use to climb up to high areas (by pressing the Use Button when standing at grappling points, the spots marked by red circles). Some examples of blaster-type characters are Queen Amidala, Captain Panaka, and Chewbacca. Astromech Droids - The robots designed for use with starfighters. They can activate astromech panels to open some doors. They can also temporarily disable most battle droids with their probes, and they can hover over short distances. Examples of astromech droids include R2-D2 and R4-P17. Protocol Droids - The robots designed for use as diplomatic aids. They can activate protocol panels to open some doors. Examples of protocol droids include C-3PO and TC-14. Kids - The characters who are supposed to be children but look as big as adults due to the freakish proportions that characterize LEGO people. They can enter vents to reach places that other characters may not be able to reach.

Examples of kids include Young Anakin Skywalker and Young Boba Fett. High Jumpers - The characters who can double jump higher than others. Examples of high jumpers include Jar Jar Binks and General Grievous. Items Stud - The small circular piece that should be familiar to all LEGO fans. In this game, studs serve as money and can be used to purchase additional playable characters and other bonuses at Dexter's Diner. Silver studs are worth 10, gold ones are worth 100, and blue ones are worth 1000. Collecting studs will also increase the Jedi Meter, which resembles a bar of studs. Fill up the Jedi Meter in a chapter to earn a portion of the superkit vehicle. Heart - A big, fat, red heart. This is used to fill up the life meter. Run out of hearts, and your character will blow up and lose some studs. Fortunately, you can continue as much as you like. Canister - A white capsule that holds a portion of a minikit vehicle. Each chapter contains ten canisters. Collect all ten of them to complete the vehicle for that chapter.

General Tips The Force is a powerful tool. Play around with it on all sorts of objects to uncover studs, switches, canisters, and other interesting things. Don't forget that certain objects can only be manipulated by Dark Jedi, so consider unlocking a Dark Jedi as soon as possible for use in the free play mode. Some things must be accomplished by having two Jedi characters using the Force on two objects simultaneously. If you're playing alone, the computer-controlled ally will automatically work with your character to solve these puzzles. If you're playing with a friend, both of you can switch between your current characters by moving close together and then pressing the Tag Button at the same time. Many canisters can only be obtained in the free play mode, where you can switch between more characters with different abilities to reach new areas. To unlock the free play mode for a chapter, finish it on the story mode first. In the free play mode, press the shoulder buttons to switch characters.

(The game will automatically include characters of as many different types as possible.) A few canisters don't appear until special tasks (like flipping levers) are performed first. Note that these canisters will still be marked by the Minikit Detector (an extra option available for purchase at Dexter's Diner), but they still cannot be obtained until the special tasks are completed. Jar Jar is actually useful in this game, especially in the free play mode. He can double jump higher than almost all the other characters, allowing him to reach lots of distant ledges and items. Enemies tend to ignore astromech droids. In the free play mode, switch to R2-D2 or R4-P17 to sneak past bad guys. The double jumping attack of the Jedi is very effective against enemies who are standing close to each other. The double jumping attack can also quickly eliminate the shields of a droideka. The Jedi Meter fills up a little bit whenever a stud is collected, but it is also reduced whenever the players' characters die.

But once the Jedi Meter is completely filled (and is flashing yellow), it will remain that way, even if the players' characters get wasted afterwards. How do you jump high in Lego Star Wars? What would you like to do? Press the jump button twice as a Jedi, Sith, General Grievous, Jar Jar Binks, or other double-jump character. Jar Jar and General Grievous are highest, along with Captain Tarpals in Episodes I-III. If you get 100% of gold bricks, in Episodes I-III your customizable characters (from the Bacta Tank) will have a high double jump like Jar Jar and in Ep. IV-VI will have a double jump.
