When Disney bought Lucasfilm and the “Star Wars” franchise, the possibility of a live-action series based on the moves came closer to a reality. It is actually happening, though? According to Channing Dungey, president of ABC Entertainment, it’s a discussion that’s being had. “As a fan, I would absolutely love to say yes [to a series],” she admits during the 2016 TCA summer press tour. “The conversations with Lucas, we have had conversations with them and we’ll continue to have conversations with them. I think it would be wonderful if we could find a way to extend that brand onto our programming.” RELATED: What we know about ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ As with everything involving “Star Wars” though, there’s really not much to say beyond that at some point. After all, even the cast of the original “Star Wars” films are continually shocked by the secrecy that surrounds the franchise. “It’s all a little bit hush-hush, that company exists under a big shroud of secrecy,” Dungey teases.
“If you feel Marvel is secretive, Lucas takes it to a whole other level.” So, there you have it. Dungey says there is no timeline for when a series will happen — or what form it’ll be, whether live-action or animated. Discussions between ABC and Lucasfilm are ongoing, though. Given Marvel’s success in TV, for the most part, it’s only a matter of time until televised lightsaber battles are a reality. The animated world of “Star Wars” is already alive and well with “Star Wars Rebels” and “LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures” on DisneyXD. As for who the show would center on, common sense says it would be developed around a new character or set of characters. Getting the stars from the movies to spin off onto a TV show may be a bit difficult, especially when you consider that Lucasfilm isn’t going to simply stop making movies anytime soon.
However, it’s clear from “Rebels,” “Freemaker” and the upcoming film “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” that Disney is very interested in creating new characters for the universe. So don’t get your hopes up too high about a Boba Fett show or a series about the antics of teen Luke Skywalker on Tatooine. That’s something they can do on the big screen. Con «Lego Star Wars: El Despertar de la Fuerza» se inaugura esta simbiosis estilística pese a no romper con lo establecido.La evolución de la serie que representa los juguetes ha sido demasiado continuista que comienza a dar signos de agotamiento. El gran aliciente era la temática, fuese Batman, El Señor de los Anillos, los superhéroes de Marvel o los Vengadores. La Guerra de las Galaxias tuvo su momento, hace varios años. Con la llegada del Capítulo VII, que ha supuesto el reinicio en la gran pantalla, se ha operado a corazón abierto. El título trata de asentarse en la filosofía de un diseño fácil de dominar y de jugar, aunque se han introducido ligeras mejoras respecto a anteriores entregas.
Asegurarse un pequeño salto permite mantener la esencia pero captar la atención. Lo consigue abriendo varios espacios. Nos encontramos con momentos de disparos y de coberturas. Nada que ver con los «shooter» convencionales. Son más bien limitadas y algo más resueltas si tendemos a la comparación y, en líneas generales, puede ser incluso repetitivo. Son una excusa para presentar pequeños enfrentamientos cargados de alegría y cierta intensidad. Flaquea el sistema de apuntado, inspirado en las mecánicas propias de la serie, por lo que los combates no son, ni por asomo, como los videojuegos especializados en temáticas bélicas, pero es un atrevimiento interesante de los creadores, TT Games, que repercute en una atracción más dentro de esta montaña rusa de fantasía. Al igual se amplía las miras con las construcciones. Ahora, los bloques permiten varias combinaciones y tipos de objetos, que hay que aprovechar para avanzar. Más variedad y diferencias de los puzles y rompecabezas, que pese a algún escarceo de dificultad, en conjunto siguen siendo sencillos de resolver.
Dividido en diez capítulos, a nivel narrativo se han suavizado las transiciones y se encuentra una mejora en la visualización de la cámara para recrear escenas con mayor profundidad y darle énfasis a las secuencias, que de nuevo apelan a esa característica visión de la serie Lego de humor, destrucción del mobiliario repleto de guiños a la historia principal. El doblaje, además, es el original de la película, salvo un personaje. Con escenas inéditas, los acontecimientos, que comienzan con los últimos compases de «El Retorno del Jedi», se basan en el «Despertar de la Fuerza», condición sine qua non para encontrarnos rodeados de los personajes que aparecen en esta nueva entrega de la popular saga cinematográfica. Ahí están Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron o, por supuesto, el simpático androide BB-8 cuyo comportamiento es, posiblemente, lo mejor del juego. Casi doscientos personajes desbloqueables. Se le coge tanto cariño que sin duda se desea controlarlo todo el tiempo. Su movimiento es asombrosamente divertido.
Su sistema de rotación sirve para superar los muchos puzzles que nos encontramos. Nos sumergimos en las batallas más representativas y los planetas más icónicos del universo de Star Wars como Jakku, enclave de una de las mayores enfrentamientos, o Endor. Se representan gran parte de las secuencias más importantes de la película, con lo cual puede contener claro está spoilers, como la gran aparición de Kylo Ren, la huida de Poe Dameron a manos de un caza o el encuentro entre el androide BB-8 y Rey. Al igual que la anterior entrega existen varios tipos de ejecuciones en función del personaje. Por lo que se dan más opciones al margen del sencillo disparo o golpeo de cada uno de ellos. La cooperación vuelve a ser parte fundamental del juego y por donde pivota toda la trama. Otro de lla momentos más divertidos se encuentran en las batallas aéreas que cuentan con reminiscencias arcade y le transportan a uno a la niñez. No obstante el manejo de las aeronaves no es muy fluido y natural, pero los enfrentamientos espaciales entre X-Wings y Cazas cautivan al espectador.
