Iron Spider is a Marvel Super Heroes minifigure released in 2015 in the set 76037 Rhino and Sandman Super Villain Team-up. Originally a suit built by Tony Stark to be a new costume for Spider-Man, it was destroyed during the Civil War when Peter Parker defected to Captain America's side and was attacked. In the Ultimate Spider-Man TV series, the Iron Spider armor was built by Tony Stark for Spider-Man to use as his own personal battle armor. However, Spider-Man had trouble adjusting to it, and his inexperience led to him botching a supervillain battle with his team. Power Man, Iron Fist, White Tiger, and Nova told him to get rid of it. However, the supervillain Living Laser told control of the armor, and threatened to burn Peter alive in the armor unless Iron Man surrendered his armor to him. Iron Man did so, and Laser began wrecking havoc with the Iron Man armor. However, Spider-Man finally learned to control the armor, and used it to defeat the Living Laser. Nick Fury allowed Spider-Man to keep the Iron Spider armor on board the Helecarrier.
Later, after an attack on the Tri-Carrier by Green Goblin and an army of Venom soldiers, Spider-Man once again donned the Iron Spider armor to provide even footing on the new Goblin-Venom. Though having cured the several SHIELD agents, including Nick Fury, and even the Goblin, who transformed back into Norman Osborn, the Venom Symbiote attacked Spider-Man, who then vaporized it with a huge repulsor discharge from his armor, which left it drained of power, leaving it to be recharged. Later, Spider-Man gave the Iron Spider armor to Amadeus Cho, a student at Midtown High School and a 13 year-old genius who was accredited by Nick Fury to be at least the seventh smartest being on Earth.
