It’s bursting from the panels, exploding with movement and life. The spirit of Spider-Man lives in Stegman’s linework; this is how the webhead was meant to be. Marvel has shuffled creative teams around a lot recently, especially artists, but Spider-Man needs Ryan Stegman.

Eduardo Risso lets a single panel consisting of a close up of a character and a silhouette serve as the issue’s biggest reveal.
It’s a perfect example of what makes this comic so special. It’s a small, almost simple story, the Azzarello and Risso deliver with depth and intrigue. In lesser hands, it’d be a one-shot, but these guys mine the richness of the characters and setting. Moonshine is mesmerizing, a sojourn nightmare that you wish would never end. Yeah, it’s about werewolves and bootleg booze, but there’s so much more going on here. Azzarello and Risso can do no wrong. Their touch turns the water to moonshine. Brilliant stuff all the way through.
