We are traveling to Athens in November and want to buy some Lego products for our son as we cannot buy them where we are. Can anyone suggest a store or even know if Athens Airport is likely to have some? Unfortunately, Athens airport does not sell any Lego toys. Lego toys are not extensively sold in Greece. Nevertheless i consider them one of the most educative things a child can play with. As far as i know, you can find Lego toys in Athens in two shops. Both belong to the main dealer, "Kalyviotis". Shop #1: Athens center, Syndagma Sq., 8 Ermou str., tel. +30 210 3238392 ( company call center ) and +30 210 3225537 ( shop ). This shop is right on the center, very very accessible if staying in Athens center. Shop #2 in Golden Hall Mall. Marousi district, 37A Kifisias Ave. & Spyros Louis. Tel. +30 210 6832695. This is a big mall at Northern suburbs, near Olympic Stadium. Both are not huge shops, so not all products are readily available. As far as i know no pre-orders are available too, except if here and having a 10 days - 15 daus buffer.
Nevertheless many basic models are available in more or less all categories. /Default.aspx then all catalog is available and prices better. Keep in mind though that upon mail order, taxes may be applicable depending Saudi Arabia tax or custom laws. 3 destinations mentioned in this post Oopsie, another one spot to shop is really near the Shop#1 described. It's Public electronics and multimedia shop, right on Syndagma Square. Their top ( toys ) floor has a great variety of toys AND Lego too. So, in less than 3' - 5' walking distance you have two really central options. Unfortunately, you won't find any huge variety in Athens. Since I was a child we used to buy them from abroad (there is a wholesale outlet in Glasgow that is to die for) and now that I buy them from my friends' children I still get most of them from London. Anyway, the best place to find a good variety of old-fashioned Lego is a an excellent toy shop on Aiolou Street, between Mitropileos and Ermou Streets.
They have the best stock around Athens. There is also a shop that brings many of them but it is in Menidi (waaaayyyyyyy out of your way). If you are also looking for Lego robotics, you can go to the Shop of the Planetarium of Athens (Synggrou Avenue). If you are looking for Lego computer games, then Plaisio is your best bet. It has shops all around Athens, the most central is the one on Voulis Street, near Syntagma. The Rohan capitol of Edoras, as seen in "The Two Towers," is an iconic scene from the world of Tolkien that TLG has not yet covered with their products. I believe this is a memorable scene that deserves to be made, and as I think I have showcased above, the can definitely exist at a plausible size and include a number of fun new characters.The Golden Hall of Medulseld is a 270 degree complete model, built with fine wood detailing and move-accurate structures. Also included in the set is another small complimentary building, seen above, with a weapons rack, horse trough, and a keg of Rohan ale!
The main roof comes away easily to expose the inside of Meduseld. It is very sturdy and safe to detach from the main model.The inside of the Golden Hall breaks into three easy-play modules: the doorway, the throne, and the dining area. All are equipped with various accessories, and fit together again easily at the base for reassembly.Wouldn't you want to have one of these in your collection?
