The notorious Abu Ghraib torture photographs, Guantanamo Bay, Israeli war crimes and the rape in Mahmudiya by US troops have all been recreated.

One of the images is the recreation of Waterboarding, a particularly medieval form of torture. With release of the torture memo this week, check out the sculpture via the link. EPIKGO – The Indestructable Hoverboard We just got the Sport model of the EPIKGO hoverboard at my office. Besides being terribly chic, it’s apparently bulletproof. My nerdy solar powered backpack Ok, it’s not just solar powered. It’s also an anti-theft, waterproof marvel that keeps my phone’s power bar from ever getting into the red.Sure the idea seems obvious now – tuck a gigantic solar powered battery pack into an exposed slot and turn the wearer into a walking energy harvester.  Simple maybe, but I didn’t […] The office I work in is full of things old people buy to make themselves feel young again.  I can honestly say that our awesome new toy, The Swagtron T3 Hoverboard, makes me feel very, very old. I’ll explain why later. Swagtron T3 Pros There’s no way to overcharge the battery and that means no […]

If you thought that LEGO ® and history were an unlikely combination, think again because the Musée des Suisses upcoming exhibition, “Histoire en Briques“, will be doing just that. From the 1st of November 2015 until the 14th of February 2016, Histoire en Briques will be bringing Swiss history to life by reconstructing some of its most iconic moments with LEGO ® bricks and characters. From Guillaume Tell to the French emperor Napoleon crossing the Alps, through to the Genevan Wyss-Dunant team climbing Mount Everest and Joséphine de Beauharnais strolling through the gardens of the château de Penthes alongside Queen Hortense, all major events in Swiss history will be documented in a fun, entertaining way.

But best of all, “Histoire en Briques” will provide fun and interactive activities for kids, including treasure hunts, LEGO ® workshops and even birthday parties. We visited the exhibition last week and we have some great snaps to share! The children really enjoyed it and the “Atelier Factory” play room is a fantastic space for them to experiment and build to their heart’s content. Out top tip is to visit “Histoire en Briques” on the first Sunday of the month, when entry to every museum in Geneva is free of charge. The kids workshops linked to the exhibition take place on selected Wednesday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm and are suitable for ages 4 to 12. Workshops are in French and free of charge but an entrance ticket to the exhibition must be purchased — it’s best to book your places in advance at secretariat@penthes.ch or by phone at 022 734 90 21. Kids workshops in November 2015: Wed. 18th. Kids workshops in December 2015: Wed. 2nd and Wed. 16th.
