Toy Fair 2015 may have come and gone, but what we saw there was just the tip of the iceberg of what LEGO is going to be offering up this year. While they displayed many sets at Toy Fair, they seem to be announcing new playsets almost weekly, featuring partnerships that continue to catapult LEGO into pop-culture superstardom more than ever before. As we sit with bated breath for the next surprise LEGO may spring on us, let’s reflect on the some of the highlights from our LEGO 2015 booth tour this year. This beauty is 1,685 pieces of pure Star Wars heaven. Featured in many Star Wars battle scenes (and many more to come with the latest installment on the horizon), this is the classic version of the Imperial Starfighter which also includes a TIE Fighter Pilot minifig, display stand and fact plaque. The TIE Fighter will retail for $229.99 and will be available in May.Years with an article: 1891 • 1895 • 1904 • 1916 • 1920 • 1924 • 1932 • 1934 • 1935 • 1936 • 1937 • 1940 • 1942 • 1946 • 1947 • 1948 • 1949 1950 • 1951 • 1953 • 1954 • 1955 • 1956 • 1957 • 1958 • 1959 • 1960 • 1961 • 1962 • 1963 • 1964 • 1965 • 1966 • 1967 • 1968 1969 • 1970 • 1971 • 1972 • 1973 • 1974 • 1975 • 1976 • 1977 • 1978 • 1979 • 1980 • 1981 • 1982 • 1983 • 1984 • 1985 • 1986 • 1987 1988 • 1989 • 1990 • 1991 • 1992 • 1993 • 1994 • 1995 • 1996 • 1997 • 1998 • 1999 • 2000 • 2001 • 2002 • 2003 • 2004 • 2005 • 2006 2007 • 2008 • 2009 • 2010 • 2011 • 2012 • 2013 •

But if you’re looking for some serious Avengers action, there might be a $300 Ultimate Collectors Series (UCS) Helicarrier on the way for summer 2015.  Considering that LEGO recently used their DC license to crank out a UCS Tumbler from The Dark Knight, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the company release a Helicarrier.

A reader has let me know this morning that there are some LEGO minifigure plushies that has been released in stores or will be released soon. Currently, there are four characters to choose from including Batman (853652) and Batgirl (853653) from The LEGO Batman Movie and Kai (853691) and Nya (853692) from LEGO Ninjago. Each minifigure plush will stand 12″ tall and are made with brushed tricot fabric with silkscreen-printed decoration. Update: They have shown up on Shop@Home. Today is the last day for the promotion to get The LEGO Batman Movie Disco Batman/Tears of Batman (30607) polybag at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home. You can get it for free with purchases of $75 or more. The polybag is fairly easy to get especially with a lot of new sets already available. I’ve already done a review of the polybag if you haven’t checked it out yet. LEGO Ideas has announced the winner of the Second 2016 Review Stage and it is the Women of NASA. This set was stated to be releases in late 2017 or early 2018.

In addition, the Voltron – Defender of the Universe project is still under consideration so that could also be a set in the future. The results of that will be announced at the Third 2016 Review results. There were twelve projects that qualified for review which included Voltron – Defender of the Universe, Spaceballs – Eagle 5, The Addams Family Mansion, the Merchant’s House, the Large Hadron Collider, LEGO Observatory – Mountain View, Modular Construction Site, the Women of NASA, Star Wars UCS X34 Landspeeder, Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, Lovelace & Babbage, and The Plum Creek – The Little House on the Prairie. Honestly, the Women of NASA project didn’t really surprise me because LEGO does have a partnership with NASA and there are a few space-themed sets already including the upcoming Saturn V one for later this year. What do you guys think if the project that was chosen to become an official LEGO Ideas set? Sound off in the comments below. If you haven’t picked up the LEGO Ideas Caterham Seven 620R (21307) yet, Amazon has it on sale for a pretty decent price of $59.99 which is 25% off the retail price.
