The holiday shopping season thus far, Nov. 1-28, has generated over $1 billion in online sales on 27 of its 28 days, Adobe said Monday. The five highest-selling toys on Cyber Monday were Lego sets, Shopkins, Nerf, Barbie and Little Live Pets;
the five best-selling electronic products were Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox, Samsung 4K TVs, Apple iPads and Amazon Fire. An Adobe statement said purchases from mobile devices, identified as smartphones and tablets, accounted for 53 percent of visits to retail websites on Cyber Monday, accounting for 25 percent of all online sales. Adobe's Cyber Monday report is based on aggregated data from 23 billion visits to retail websites. The company measures 80 percent of all online transactions from the top 100 U.S. retailers and uses a predictive model powered by Adobe Sensei predictive software to calculate the sales made and dollars spent per hour. This represents a massive 12.1 percent increase on last year’s online Cyber Monday sales. This time round, 65 percent of purchases were made on desktop computers, and 35 percent via mobile. It follows a record-breaking Black Friday for online sales, when $3.34 billion was shelled out online, and many more billions spent in stores (Cyber Monday is more of an online-only event, although there are a growing number of exceptions). According to Adobe, just shy of $40 billion has been spent online by Americans between Nov. 1-28, of which $12.8 billion was spent between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday – a 15.2 percent rise on last year. At least $1 billion was spent by online shoppers on 27 out of 28 days in November. Fortune reports that Adobe comes up with the figures by measuring 80 percent of all online transactions from the top 100 U.S. retailers. Amazon told the magazine it’s on pace for its “best Cyber Monday in history” while Walmart said purchase made through its app jumped 150 percent.
There’s no Cyber Monday word from Target yet, but the Twin Cities retailer said after Black Friday it had seen a “strong start to the holiday season.” The best-selling products for the season so far (Nov. 1-28) are as follows: The best-selling toys on Cyber Monday meanwhile were Lego sets, Shopkins, Nerf, Barbie and Little Live Pets. Here is where Toys R Us will be posting their Cyber Monday deals and sales. So far, Target is offering 15% off most purchases in store and online on Sunday and Monday.
