A reader has let me know this morning that there are some LEGO minifigure plushies that has been released in stores or will be released soon. Currently, there are four characters to choose from including Batman (853652) and Batgirl (853653) from The LEGO Batman Movie and Kai (853691) and Nya (853692) from LEGO Ninjago. Each minifigure plush will stand 12″ tall and are made with brushed tricot fabric with silkscreen-printed decoration. Update: They have shown up on . Today is the last day for the promotion to get The LEGO Batman Movie Disco Batman/Tears of Batman (30607) polybag at LEGO Stores and on . You can get it for free with purchases of $75 or more. The polybag is fairly easy to get especially with a lot of new sets already available. I’ve already done a review of the polybag if you haven’t checked it out yet. LEGO Ideas has announced the winner of the Second 2016 Review Stage and it is the Women of NASA. This set was stated to be releases in late 2017 or early 2018.




In addition, the Voltron – Defender of the Universe project is still under consideration so that could also be a set in the future. The results of that will be announced at the Third 2016 Review results. There were twelve projects that qualified for review which included Voltron – Defender of the Universe, Spaceballs – Eagle 5, The Addams Family Mansion, the Merchant’s House, the Large Hadron Collider, LEGO Observatory – Mountain View, Modular Construction Site, the Women of NASA, Star Wars UCS X34 Landspeeder, Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, Lovelace & Babbage, and The Plum Creek – The Little House on the Prairie. Honestly, the Women of NASA project didn’t really surprise me because LEGO does have a partnership with NASA and there are a few space-themed sets already including the upcoming Saturn V one for later this year. If you haven’t seen it yet, there’s going to be a cool little set that will be coming out for aspiring filmmakers called Movie Maker Set (853650) that is themed around The LEGO Batman Movie. The set has 152 pieces and includes a Batman minifigure, parts to build a stand for your smartphone, as well as a background scene. The set is good for making your own stop-motion videos. The Movie Maker Set (853650) is already available in Europe and Asia but there’s no word on the availability here in North America.

Well the folks over at Jedi News now has the tentative release dates as well as UK pricing for the sets so you can get a sense of how large the sets will be. Additionally, there will be 7 sets that will be based on Episode VII: The Force Awakens and two of them will be a new Millennium Falcon and X-Wing. Yes, you heard that right. A new Millennium Falcon and X-Wing based on the new movie! It’s not a huge surprise that those two will be making an appearance. It’s also interesting how the LEGO Star Wars Summer 2015 will be split in two waves this year. Unfortunately, Jedi News reports that the figures look to be previously released Saga Legends figures with 5 points of articulation.  Hasbro did a similar thing with the Commemorative Blu-ray boxed sets and I have to say that those didn’t excite me.  




The packaging was probably the most interesting thing. The packaging again seems to be the only novel step here as the left panels of the boxed sets will match up to form a new collective illustration of the Star Wars Saga.  That has the potential to be a cool new piece of art.  Please note that the image below seems to be a place holder. In addition, Jedi News reports that Lego will also be releasing the following sets in 2015: …and another 13 sets coming later in the year… It’s interesting that the Death Star Duel would be priced so high.  It makes me think there must be a substantial throne room build involved.  I’m also happy to see the range of price options for the Episode VII sets.  According to Jedi News, two of the Episode VII sets will be the Millennium Falcon and an X-Wing.  The current Lego X-Wing is priced at about $60 and the Falcon, though several years old, started at $140.  So we can probably guess which of the listed sets correspond with each.
