This year Brickset published a series of 'What's Missing?' articles which explored the possibilities for these absent sets and we concluded each article with three suggestions for models which might be released in the future.

Now it's your chance to turn some of these ideas into reality in our Star Wars 'What's Missing?' building competition! Read on for more details... Here's what you have to build: Imagine you are part of the LEGO Star Wars design team. You have been given some ideas for sets to design and a price point to aim for in each case. We would like you to choose one idea from the list below and build your vision of the set as though you were designing it as an official LEGO set for worldwide release. The set ideas below were all pitched in the 'What's Missing?' series and you may find my suggested set descriptions useful, although the features described need not appear in your design. Links to the original articles where you will find the set descriptions are provided below. 75201 Mos Espa - £69.99, $79.99, €89.99 - Qui-Gon Jinn, Anakin Skywalker, Shmi Skywalker, C-3PO (incomplete), Watto, Jira, Kitster. 75203 Coruscant Pursuit - £49.99, $59.99, €59.99 - Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Zam Wesell.

Minifigures need not be included in your entry as many of those suggested do not yet exist. Furthermore, as the set designer it would not be your responsibility to create new minifigures. However, you may wish to include placeholder minifigures in your images in order to demonstrate play features. Entries will be judged on the following: Accuracy to the source material. Adherence to the pricing guidelines provided*. *For instance, a set costing £49.99, $59.99 or €59.99 is likely to contain approximately 500 pieces based on sets which are currently available. Upload a maximum of five photos of your entry, displaying any major features and the model from several angles, to the Brickset Flickr group set up for this competition or post your entry on Instagram using the hashtag #BricksetCompetition. Multiple entries are permitted. Unfortunately we are not able to accept LDD or other virtual creations. Custom and non-LEGO components are not permitted.

Although we won't be judging your photographic skills, please try to light your models evenly and photograph them against a clean background. Please upload your entries by 23:59 GMT on the 16th of December. To give the judges time to properly consider all entries, winners will be announced early in 2017. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. We are in the process of assembling an exceptionally qualified panel of judges but we can reveal that it will include LEGO Star Wars designer Hans Burkhard Schlömer! The prizes are not yet confirmed but suffice it to say they will be worth winning.
