The story begins with Professor Archibald Hale wishing to discover the six treasures of Amset-Ra. The archeologist professor rarely works outside the safety of museums, so he hires explorer and thrill seeker Jake Raines to accompany him on the expedition. Since Jake is brought along to do the manual and dangerous work, most of the building sets revolve around his character. An ancient Egyptian tablet allows the professor to translate the story of Amset-Ra. Their adventure turns from a treasure hunt, to a quest to save the world from Amset-Ra's plan of world domination. Jake and Helena are after the golden scarab shield at the the Cobra Temple. The truck they use to reach the temple has working doors and a crate in the back big enough to store supplies.

The treasure is attached at the top of the 5" high temple. The temple is also used to supports the 18" long cobra statue. The Snake Charmer Mummy can bring the statue to life and the snake can be detached from the base. The cobra is fully possible and has an opening and closing mouth. The desert glider is one of the many vehicles our adventurers use to travel across the vast desert in search of Amset-Ra's treasure. This small plane was given away to promote the Pharaoh's Quest theme. Its simple design has just enough room for one minifigure. Its notable feature is a rotating propeller. Incase the pilot runs into trouble, each wing is armed with a gun. While the desert glider allowed our treasure hunters to search large areas of the desert at a distance, the desert rover gives a closer look at the land. This small jeep was given away with the May 20, 2011 issue of The Sun newspaper. Jack Raines is flying an armored biplane to retrieve the soul diamond located on top of a tall obelisk.

This building set is also referred to as Duel in the Air. The Royal Air Force plane is well armed to fight off the flying mummies, but it's most useful feature is the functioning claw, that can grab the soul gem. The 7" high obelisk serves as a location for the soul gem to be stored and have the flying mummies stand guard. This small set was available before the official theme's release and gave builders a sample of what was to come. Mac McCloud is in search of the golden staff, which is being guarded by two mummy warriors. The small motorcycle has clips for McCloud to store his dynamite and rifle. The shrine holding the staff has a TECHNIC piece in back, that can be pushed down to launch the staff into the air, as if it was blown out by a blast of dynamite.Rise Of The Sphinx Jake Raines is attempting to find the golden sword, before the mummies are able to awaken the Sphinx. Jake's hot rod has enough space to seat two minifigures. The main model in this set is the large Sphinx and temple it rests upon.

The temple has an exploding wall for Jake to blow up with dynamite and enter the temple. A lever can be pushed down to open a hidden treasure room. The 10" tall Sphinx is fully articulated and can detach from the temple, as it comes to life. Jake must dig up the golden crystal, that is buried somewhere in the desert. This mystical treasure, with the power to control living creatures, is being guarded by a giant scarab beetle. Of course, giant is a relative term. The scarab is 1" tall, but this is huge to a 1.5" minifigure. All six of the scarab's legs can move up and down. To set up Jake's campsite, there is a small campfire, chicken leg, mug, gun, binoculars, pickax and box for holding supplies or the golden crystal. With almost 800 pieces and 7 minifigures, this is the largest set in the theme and where the epic showdown between our heroes and Amset-Ra occurs. The set was scheduled for release in 2011, but LEGO stores and Toys "Я" Us received shipments in November of 2010, just in time for the holiday shopping season.

The armored all terrain vehicle can transport the heroes and their gear to the resting place of Amset-Ra. A mounted machine gun on this half-track makes it well prepared to fight the hordes of enemies they are sure to encounter. At around 10" long, the scorpion guarding the pyramid is much larger than the ATV. All of the legs have joints to simulate walking. The front and back legs are also able to turn. Its large claws can rotate and the arms are hinged to add even more articulation. The tail has a stinger, that can be moved to stab its victims. The 10" tall, 15" wide pyramid is filled with secret doors and deadly traps. A snake pits awaits victims on one side and a scorpion pit is on the other. The stairs leading to the top can be flipped up, causing a minifigure to fall down into the scorpion pit. If you make it to the door, it can be opened by turning the gold coins on the side. The second floor has a trap door filled with sand yellow bricks. To avoid the stairs, there is a secret entrance on the right side of the pyramid, that opens by pulling a lever inside.

The sarcophagus is designed to slide out of its resting place. Next to a lever in the wall, is a clip to put dynamite. The lever can then be used to simulate the wall blowing up.Skeleton Mummy Battle Pack Snake Charmer Mummy (2) Battle Packs were designed to let people build up their Minifigure armies quickly and cheaply. They typically come with four or more minifigures. This battle pack only comes with three minifigures and a large sarcophagus. The 2" gold tomb is used to store the treasure, along with the snake and scorpions.Pharaoh’s Quest Coin Bank The Pharaoh's Quest Coin Bank was not part of theme's storyline and considered a supplementary set. However, LEGO recognized that a bank was the perfect fit for a theme about treasure hunters. When assembled, it looks like a tunnel that might be found leading to the tomb in a pyramid. A cobra similar to the one found in 7325 Cursed Cobra Statue ties it to the Pharaoh line.More by this AuthorLEGOsHow To Build LEGO NumbersLEGO Instructions to build numbers 1-10.
