FREE Download: Available from PICSL6830 Space Patroller is a Futuron set released in 1988. It contains 48 pieces, building a spacecraft and a yellow Futuron astronaut. The Space Patroller is one of the smallest Futuron sets. It has two wings, each one of them able change their angle from the rest of the ship. The cockpit top opens, along with two lasers. There are two removable robots. The ship is mostly white with some black. The bottom of the robots appears similar to a propulsion jet, so they most likely can be used for propulsion. Volkswagen's display at the Chicago Auto Show included something we're not used to seeing at auto shows: Lego sets. This one was custom-built from more than 20,000 Lego bricks, and it comes with the VW Atlas SUV and the original Microbus.
It also features the Detroit skyline (note the unmistakable Renaissance Center, along with several other landmark buildings), which is neither VW's headquarters in the U.S. nor Chicago, where the diorama was revealed. Dubbed "The Volkswagen Journey," this set is meant to highlight the relationship between VW vehicles and American families through the years, as well as the evolution of VW design. We have to admit that the classic Microbus is a little more recognizable than the Atlas -- the Lego Atlas looks like a lot of SUVs -- but we wouldn't mind buying either model. If VW offered them, that is. A Microbus similar to this one is available directly from Lego. Will Volkswagen greenlight Microbus-style electric MPV concept? After 16 years of concepts, teasers, vague promises and more concepts, Volkswagen is believed to be close to greenlighting a retro-styled "Microbus" MPV for production, Automotive News ... Unfortunately, this set is not for retail sale, though the Microbus itself is offered by Lego separately.
The design of the commercially available Microbus is a little different -- it's the camper version -- but other than that, it's pretty well-executed. It's also a bit pricey, like the restored versions of the original Microbus, which have been hovering near the $100,000 mark at auctions. A veces estamos tan ocupados mirando hacia delante y probando cosas nuevas que olvidamos los fantásticos modelos que antecedieron a los de hoy. Milan será nuestro guía por la calle de los recuerdos en esta serie de tres partes. Milan, ¿han compartido los modelos Technic un hilo conductor a lo largo de los años? Lo que comparten todos los modelos de hoy en comparación con los primeros modelos LEGO Technic es una sólida experiencia de construcción y juego. Al principio, los modelos eran una combinación de elementos Technic, como engranajes, vigas, etc., y bricks normales. Por aquel entonces, la autenticidad ya era un criterio de éxito. Los modelos eran muy representativos y era fácil saber si algo era un helicóptero, una grúa o un camión, pero se descomponían fácilmente al jugar con ellos. Lo recuerdo, porque me pasaba a mí cuando era niño. La calidad de las funciones dependía también de los elementos disponibles entonces. Los primeros modelos sin espigas se lanzaron en 2000, como parte de los sets de combate, el destructor y los droides mecánicos Technic Star Wars.
El sistema de bloqueo tridimensional que incorporaban aquellos modelos Technic e incorporarían otros muchos a partir de entonces nos permitió crear diseños más estables. Dicho eso, creo que aún podemos estar muy orgullosos de todos los modelos y sus funciones, y continuamos esforzándonos por lograr ese nivel de autenticidad que ha acompañado a cada detalle desde el primer día. Todos los modelos fueron el juguete favorito de alguien en un momento determinado, y eso es algo que merece la pena recordar. Comencemos dando un vistazo a algunas de las grúas más populares. La década de 1970 Año: 1978 (volvió a lanzarse en 1979 con el número 955). Motivo de fama: Fue la primera grúa construida con elementos Technic combinados con bricks normales. Supimos entonces que Technic iba a ser algo grande. El modelo se hizo tan popular que fue lanzado de nuevo en 1979. Funciones: Quedaba mucho tiempo hasta que apareciesen los componentes Power Functions, por lo que la superestructura giratoria y la pluma extensible se accionaban manualmente.
La década de 1980 Modelo: Power Crane (8854) Motivo de fama: ¡Lo crean o no, fue la única grúa Technic lanzada durante la década de 1980! Funciones: Dirección manual, elevación neumática, estabilizadores y gancho con funciones de ascenso y descenso. El modelo B era un camión de carga. La década de 1990 Modelo: Pneumatic Crane Truck (8460) Motivo de fama: El primer camión grúa neumático se hizo tan popular que volvimos a lanzarlo no una, sino dos veces más (en 2002 y 2003). Lo único que cambiamos en los nuevos sets fueron algunos elementos que no estaban disponibles cuando lanzamos el modelo original. Funciones: Pluma extensible, engranajes accionables manualmente, superestructura giratoria, función de ascenso y descenso neumático del brazo de la grúa y dirección delantera y trasera. La década de 2000 Al margen del set Pneumatic Crane Truck, lanzado en 2002 y 2003, la década de 2000 fue muy productiva en cuanto a grúas.
Pero, si tenemos que elegir una favorita, sería esta: Modelo: Grúa Móvil (8421) Motivo de fama: ¡Es una grúa increíblemente grande! En 2005, era la grúa más grande que habíamos creado hasta el momento. Funciones: Pluma telescópica motorizada que se extiende hasta alcanzar el doble de su longitud original, cilindros neumáticos reales para controlar el ascenso y descenso de la pluma, sistema de dirección de seis ruedas, cuatro estabilizadores retráctiles y un motor Power Functions. Los mejores de la década de 2010 Ha pasado algo menos de la mitad, así que quizá sea un poco pronto para anunciar los mejores de la década de 2010, pero… ¿qué tan increíble fue la Grúa Móvil MK II? ¡Siempre podemos volver a revisar esta categoría en 2020! Modelo: Grúa Móvil MK II (42009) Funciones: Sistema de dirección de 8 ruedas, superestructura giratoria, motor Power Functions para extender los estabilizadores y controlar el descenso de las patas y la extensión o elevación del brazo de grúa, gancho con cabrestante y motor V8 detallado con pistones móviles.
