Edinbrick has a new venue and a new date! We will be in TechCube in Summerhall, 1 Summerhall Place, Edinburgh EH9 1PL on Saturday 20th of May 2017. We should have the same set up as before with LEGO displays from builders across Scotland (and beyond), a build area for both LEGO and DUPLO, a Superhero Hunt, Pokemon Hunt and other activities. We remain a not for profit event with all profits going the Fairy Bricks Charity. Tickets for the new date will be available in advance from Wonderland Models from Wednesday 1st of March.
If you have already bought tickets those tickets remain valid for the new date just bring them along. If you are no longer able to attend please get in touch with Edinbrick ASAP to arrange a refund. New posters and Fliers are also being arranged - so if you see one with the old date and location please let us know so we can get it replaced. The Counting House building is currently being renovated and there has been a unexpected and major complication with the renovations which means we can not host Edinbrick at the Counting House on the 11th of March.
Edinbrick is one of the many events impacted by the renovation work over the next few months, we have offer...ed to rebuild the whole building using LEGO to speed things up but it turns out even we don't have enough bricks. As you can imagine having to find a suitable venue in Edinburgh on 3 weeks notice is proving to be a bit tricky so far and we are trying to figure out our best options. We will have more news for you as soon as possible, please keep an eye on our page and our event for any announcements. The LEGO Batman Movie in the cinema, the announced Ninjago Movie Trailer, the new 2017 LEGO sets available in Toy Stores now - there is plenty to keep our mind on all things LEGO. But we thought this weekend we'd introduce the Charity we are raising funds for - Fairy Bricks. Fairy Bricks delivers LEGO sets to children in hospital - they work closely with hospital play teams to deliver the sets the hospital play teams actually need. The hospital play teams get advice from Fairy Bricks and then it's the play team who make the decisions as to how best to use the LEGO as they know the specific needs of their children far better than Fairy Bricks ever could. Previous LEGO Ideas projects which LEGO Fans have submitted which turned into real sets include Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Wall-E and The Beatles Yellow Submarine.
