We've pointed members at other on-line lists in the past, but it looks like we may be starting to get ahead of them & maybe it's time we started & maintained our own.

I'd like this to be a community effort to populate and maintain it; I'll start, but please feel free to post suggestions below - the staff will review, edit & add where appropriate.Initially I'm thinking of two versions of the list, tailored to particular interests - one for collectors (here) & one for builders (in building & techniques) ... we'll see how it goes, but it may be better in the long term to merge them, but lets just see how it goes :-)RetailersBL - abbreviation for the on-line set & brick selling site BricklinkB&M - Brick and Mortar (physical store vs online store)B&N - Barnes & NobleBS - an overused appreviation; JL - John LewisLBR - LEGO Brand Retail StoreS@H - 'Shop at Home', the name of Lego's original on-line store, now called LEGO Shop OnlineTLG - The LEGO GroupTRU - Toys'r'Us, a global toy retailer with both real-world stores & an on-line storeWHS - W.H.Smith, a chain of UK storesWM - WalmartMiscellaneousAFFOL - Adult Female Fan of LEGOAFOL - Adult Fan of LEGOANH - A New Hope (Star Wars Episode IV)AOTC - Attack of the Clones (Star Wars Episode II)BAM - Build a MinifigureBNIB - Brand New in BoxD2C - Direct to Consumer (LEGO Direct)EOL - End of Life (Discontinued)FBTB - From Bricks to Bothans (www.fbtb.net)GBP - Great Britain PoundKFOL - Kid Fan of LEGOMISB - Mint in Sealed BoxMSRP (RRP) - Manufacturer's Suggested Retail PriceOFD - Off Fixture Display (A freestanding display in a

That's not what i thought it meant! But i'm pertty old too, so i have to learn and un-learn some things. Theme - saw at a thread, took me some time to realize:TS - Toy Story pteric said:I dont get all the Abbreviation & Acronyms, just spell out the set it only takes an extra second or two. Same with just listing set numbers, spell it out will ya. Some people are lazy and don't like to type things out. Some are incapable of spelling correctly and thus abbreviations allow them to disguise their ignorance and/or illiteracy. bigfanofnu said:What is MOCS? MOCs would be the plural of My Own Creation. kinobestew123 said:It needs adding to the list. I've just come into here to see what MOC stood for?

I thought it was something to do with the Modular sets. DrLegOBrick said:CC-Classic CastleCT-Classic TownCS-Classic Space Are those really useful? A search for those terms on brickset doesn't reveal they are being used for what is suggested.CC is used for Corner Cafe or Credit CardCT is used for ConnecticutCS is used for Customer ServiceI cannot see any references to those abbreviations referring to the themes./discussion/12219/request-valuation-of-classic-space-1980-sNo one has referred to them as CS, even in context of the thread being called Classic Space. It's also used as Minifig/Minifigure. When I first came on here I couldn't believe all the abbreviations. It's like text messaging someone in bulk....I agree, don't just add the number of the set, it's annoying as hell to have to look it up to see what you are talking about.I also agree, just write the name and number of the set...like Monster Fighters Haunted House #10228.Honestly we don't care if you can't spell it, we will get what you mean, and so long as there are NO spelling and grammar police here, I don't care.

I have a passionate hatred for people who constantly correct or point out when you made a mistake. It would be so much easier for us newbies to know what the hell you guys are actually talking about, without having to look up every other abbreviation. I came here to talk about Lego, not to learn to text speak. bobabricks said:I'm pretty sure the clone wars is already just called CW not TCW and do they sell Lego at the pound in great Britain 'cause that would be coolI forgot the currency in Britain is called the pound, I just had brain fart XD, it would be cool if they did sell Lego at the pound though idk why XD only sets that come with dogs tho or represent dogs :P. I wanted to add that just using a set number as a reference drives me batty.... so many to remember, especially since TLG had a bad habit of reusing set numbers in the past.... especially the 3 digit set numbers.Few sets are as bad as 310.... there's 5 of them actually!! RI - Research Institute / #21110 @SuperTramp Okay so if the seller tells a set is New MISB OVP is it factory sealed?
