The beloved dog and his mystery-solving friends will be returning to their animated roots.Shepard is set to co-write the screenplay with Matt Lieberman as well. Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, the producers behind 2002's Scooby-Doo and 2004's Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed sequel, are also producing the franchise's new film alongside Allison Abbate (Space Jam, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Lego Movie). There is no word yet of who will voice the characters, but the previous live-action films starred Freddie Prinze Jr. as Fred, Sarah Michelle Gellar (Daphne), Linda Cardellini (Velma), Matthew Lillard (Shaggy) and Neil Fanning as the voice of Scooby.
