Here's how it works: Anybody can ask a question The best answers are voted up and rise to the top Some time ago I found the following youtube video by Ricardo Oliveira of a small NXT plotter that crawls over a whiteboard. It has two strings that can be shortened through coils and with this, it controls its position on the whiteboard. Here is a screenshot from the video. The whole idea behind it is as simple as it is intriguing. I really like it. There is a somewhat more detailed video (thanks to Mr. Shiny for sharing the link) here on youtube. Nevertheless, does someone has a already recreated it and could share detailed images (or even better a construction plan)? The LEGO Engineering website is dedicated to providing educators and mentors with resources for teaching with LEGO materials. This site aims to help educators use LEGO materials effectively to teach concepts through open-ended engineering design projects. The site features content and support for the RCX (using the ROBOLAB software) and the new NXT (using the NXT software and the ROBOLAB software). This site also features online lesson plans and instructional sequences. The Tufts University Center for Engineering Education Outreach website offers learning tools, activities, and support materials that help K-12 educators and mentors teach science, math, and technology through an engineering approach. It also includes information on Tufts' outreach programs, tool development, teacher and student workshops, and educational research. The Carnegie Mellon University National Robotics Engineering Center provides well developed curriculum for middle school and high school classrooms.

This standard base educational tool is based around LEGO MINDSTORMS kits. The curriculum enables students to engage in hands-on learning through interactive exercise covering physics, technology, math, and science. Curriculum is offered in English and Spanish. NOTE: Some of the curriculum models are free while others must be purchased. The NASA Robotics Alliance Project seeks to provide a clearinghouse of robotics-related educational materials. This website offers lessons, materials, and robotics education discussion forums. Find online resources for building and programming with LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT: These are some of the many online resources available to the LEGO MINDSTORMS community: Explore the websites of LEGO (the NXT hardware producer) and National Instruments (the NXT software maker): For those of you who are searching for even more online resources, the University of North Carolina's MINDSTORMS Resource pageoffers a variety of links organized by subject.

Have you found a cool online resource that you think other DTEAChers would like to know about? This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Here, you will find projects I have created with the LEGO Mindstorms NXT set. You can contact me at kryst(at)ceeu.de. You can find my other projects on my website. The NXT 8094 Plotter is the plotter model from the old 8094 Technic Control Center rebuilt with the use of the Lego Mindstorms NXT set. Although not very precise, it is a very quick and simple way to build a Lego plotter. Additionally, I've build a font set made out of custom blocks to write letters with it. Feel free to use them. Download the font set (ZIP, 5MB) The JennToo Radar is an improvement of the Tribot Radar made for Brian Davis' JennToo robot. The program comes with the same features and scan resoultion as the Tribot Radar, but works abot 200% faster due to a different scanning method.

This program is ment to be used with JennToo, the building instructions of which can be found here. The program itself is based on the trigonometric custom bulding bricks from the very helpful NXTtude. I added some own custum building bricks to keep the program size manageble. Feel free to download it and experiment with it. Tell me if you come up with something exciting. Download the Program (ZIP, 1MB) With the Tribot Radar your Tribot scans the environment using the ultrasonic sensor and displays the collected data on the screen. The idea is similar to a radar display. Afterwards, you are able to change resolution of the display to zoom in and out. This program is ment to be used with the Tribot, the building instructions of which are included in the standart LEGO Mindstorms NXT set. • EV3 and NXT Programming Tutorials by STEMcentric • EV3 Home Edition Programming Software - FREE • Robotics for Beginners by Rowan University Laboratory - designed for teachers
