Learn everything there is to know about Product Codes, promotional codes, and code redemption. Log in to Origin using the EA Account you want to add your game to. This is important if you're a parent who wants to add a game to your child's account. When you buy a game through Origin, you'll be given a Product Code to register and activate your game. There are three ways to find your code.Get your code in the Origin clientIf you already have the Origin client open:Click on Games on the menu bar> Reload Game Library.Click on the My Game Library tab. The game you just bought should appear.Right-click the game tile and choose Game Properties. For some games it may say "Product Code," for others it may say "Serial code" or "CD key." Get your code via emailAfter you buy your game, check your email for a receipt that has the game's Product Code. NOTE: Some games are automatically added to your account, so it’s possible you won’t get a code in your receipt email.
If there’s no product code in your email, check the Origin client to see if your game already shows in your Game Library. Get your code in your Order HistoryNever got the receipt email or deleted it? For some games, you can see your code by going to your Order History and clicking the plus sign (+) next to the transaction. Use your Product Code to create a digital copy of your game. .Redeem your code in the Origin clientFor PCLog in with the EA Account where you want to add the game.Click the Origin menu.Select Redeem Product Code...Enter the Product Code from your confirmation email, the back of the game manual, or the game box insert.Click Next.You’ll see the game added to your Game Library.For Mac Have the Origin client open (the current running program).Go to your computer's top menu to select Games and Redeem Product Code...Log in to the Origin store website using the EA Account where you want to add the game.Select Game Library.Click Add a Game in the top right corner.
This will drop down an option to click Redeem Product Code…Click Next.You’ll see the game added to your Game Library.Redeeming other games and classic gamesSome of our games cannot be redeemed directly through Origin, but they still can be added to your EA Account in other ways. The Sims 3 codes must be redeemed on The Sims 3 website to register your games and get any additional bonus content. Some of our classic games cannot be registered to Origin and can only be played if you still have the game disc. Subscription and virtual currency (such as Sim Points) codes can be redeemed at the URL specified in your code instructions. You can download your purchased games at any time, on any computer, in the Origin client. Use these steps to download and install your games through Games for Windows Live (GFWL), Steam, and InstallShield. How does game preloading work?Download your game before its release date. Unlock, unpack, and install the game early so you can play as soon as possible. I lost my code and didn’t install through Origin! What do I do? If you lose a Product Code for an EA game that you did not install through Origin, contact us so we can help. When you contact us about your Product Code, we may need your Proof of Purchase.I got a message saying my Product Code can't be redeemed through Origin. What should I do?Check the instructions that came with your code — they should list the URL where you should go to redeem your Product Code. Origin will send you to that URL when possible, but sometimes you will need to check the Product Code instructions to make sure you redeem your code in the right place.
Note: Some codes may give you extra content when you redeem them at a specific URL. Read all instructions carefully so you don't miss out! Origin says my code has already been redeemed. What do I do now?Contact us so we can investigate! I redeemed a Product Code, but nothing new appeared in my Game Library. Not all codes are full game codes. Some codes are redeemable for in-game content only and will not create a new icon in your Game Library. You can access the content from these codes when you're playing the game they're for. Origin won't let me download my game onto another computer. What can I do?Reach out to us and a Games Advisor can help you troubleshoot.My game downloaded through Origin but will not install!Sometimes your games will not run because you do not have the right permissions on your computer.
