LEGO ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Ghost Ship Has A Ribcage Hull That Opens LEGO brought a lot of products to New York Toy Fair, but the Silent Mary ghost ship from Pirates of the Caribbean is definitely the most interesting. The skeleton hull actually opens up! From the press release: Bring the magic of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean to your home with this impressive replica of the Silent Mary ghost ship. This highly detailed LEGO model with over 2,200 pieces features a hinged bow section, opening skeleton hull with decay and destruction detailing, movable rudder, collapsible main mast and two further masts, long bowsprit with crow’s nest and mast, tattered sails, detailed quarterdeck, plus a rowboat with two oars and an array of weapons and accessory elements. This model provides a rewarding build and play experience, and the integrated stand makes it suitable for display. Includes eight minifigures: Captain Jack Sparrow, Henry, Carina, Lieutenant Lesaro, Captain Salazar, Officer Magda, Officer Santos and the Silent Mary Masthead.
Features a hinged bow section, opening skeleton hull with decay and destruction detailing, movable rudder, three masts including a collapsible main mast, long bowsprit with crow’s nest and mast, tattered sails, detailed quarterdeck, plus a rowboat with two oars. Weapons include two gray swords, three black swords and a pistol. Also includes the Silent Mary Masthead’s shield and sword elements. Accessory elements include a compass, sextant, monocular, two brooms and a ship-in-a-bottle. Special elements include Captain Salazar’s hairpiece and a decorated Galileo Diary with printed cover and astronomy page. Raise the hinged bow section and open the skeleton hull to switch from sailing mode to attack mode. The Silent Mary with the main mast in vertical position measures over 18” (48cm) high, 26” (68cm) long and 8” (22cm) wide, and over 14” (36cm) wide with the main mast collapsed. The Silent Mary set will be available for $199.99 at the LEGO Shop starting on April 1st.

It was one of the first themes where I managed to collect the majority of all the first run items. I'm super glad to see its return, though it is going to make for an expensive year for me. Here are some great images of the sets that are going to be released in 2015. Shipwreck Defense (70409 ) I'll start with the good news. Lego didn't nerf the cannons. They still shoot as is depicted right on the box. Pull the plunger and launch a 1x1 round right into the eyes of your siblings. Soldiers Outpost (70410) Comes with an octopus, of course. Also the return of the Imperial Guard flag and minifigures. Most importantly, and I hope you see it right away, dark red profile bricks. Treasure Island (70411) No official image of this set unfortunately, though the name and set number were listed in the leaked sets.
It is pretty similar to Volcano Island (6248), complete with gigantic skull in rock. Soldiers Fort (70412) The big version of the imperial flag atop the white walled fort is just great looking. It looks like there are some more weapons to put out eyes with in addition to a cool looking pulley system to haul in the booty. The Brick Bounty (70413) It looks to be about the same size as the old Black Sea Barracuda (6285) and I'm betting it'll come in much cheaper in price. There also looks to be a crazy looking new shark to kill those walking the plank. Pirate Treasure Hunt (10679) The Juniors entry into the pirate theme. Though these sets are marketed towards post Duplo kids, ages 4-7, they come with some fantastic elements. The best features are the lack of any stickers of any kind and that they contain some really awesome printed brick. He is a main enemy in Dead Man's Chest and At World's End (he is an in-game boss). He is the captain of the ghost ship The Flying Dutchman, so he has the ability to breathe underwater. He also has the ability to go through green patches of sea life and exit out some other area of the ship or otherwise. Davy Jones has the standard attack of a sword.
