Please see Discovery Center Times Square for current exhibits.Yes, the Lego Exhibit At Discovery Center, by Nathan Sawaya, features magnificent art pieces that range from incredible likenesses of famous figures like Jimi Hendrix to complex human sculptures.  Sawaya’s art has been named “One of CNN’s Ten Global Must-See Exhibitions.”While some artists express themselves in mediums such as paint or clay, Nathan sees a pile of Lego building blocks as potential art form, then sets about building his masterpieces.  Normally, Legos are the little bits and pieces of toys that become great annoyances.  Have you ever stepped on one? Legos are little plastic colored bricks that have delighted children for decades.  What adult has ever looked at them and wondered if it could become something so artsy?

The Art of the Brick New York City runs now through January 2014. Billed as the largest display of art made from Legos, the show features over 100 Lego masterpieces Mr. Sawaya built from his over 1 million pieces of Lego bricks.  Not to rival sculptures from “Legoland,” Nathan Sawaya adds a true art form from his pieces.More Info: Discovery Center Times SquareSee More About the Lego Exhibit at Discovery CenterArt of The Brick Intro Video from RBH Multimedia, Inc. on Vimeo.Related Info: Hotels in Times SquareTimes Square Neighborhood GuideDiscovery Center Times SquareBack to Top of Lego Exhibit at Discovery CenterWe will be closed Monday, February 27 through Friday, March 3 as we build new adventures! Because that made my day, I took several photos looking into the store from the outside. I absolutely loved this store. If you go to NYC you must stop in Rockefeller Center and the Lego Store is right there, so you cannot miss it. My husband and I bought the Beatles Yellow Submarine Lego.

It has amazing stuff on Star Wars as well. Denmark 5th January 2016 RE: Visit to Lego Store, Rockefeller Centre, New York I feel I must contact you directly to make you aware of the most fantastic service my husband and I received at your LEGO store during a recent visit to New York. It is a retail shop for Lego products. Perfectly located at the Rockefeller center. The shop itself is beautiful, organized and clean. Wonderful displays of Lego designs and buildings. The staff are friendly and helpful. Not too much choices when it comes to articles to purchase but you will find something to buy at the end. This store is a popular tourist spot (it's in Rock Center, duh!), and has an amazing staff an lots of cool displays. Of course, the prices are higher here because of Manhattan rents. If you're a local and just wanna buy LEGOs, head to the Queens mall location for the cheaper prices. Visited during the busy period and had another look around when it was quiet, great set of displays and made my partner want to buy everything in the store.

All the legos seemed to be the same price as the ones you buy in store, maybe a bit more or less with a few sets, and I liked how you... I've read some of the reviews expressing sadness that this is just a Lego store, of course, its not Legoland, its a retail premises, but that doesn't mean you can't have fun! There are a few local treats, like the Statue of Liberty (although the fridge magnet is better than the build your own), there are plenty of boxsets from... The Lego Store was very crowded both times we visited. Other than a small NYC lego building display, this store was very much like all of the other Lego Stores we have visited. This is just a store that sells legos. I was expecting more, a place where kids could interact but there was nothing. Just boxes of legos and displays that kids cannot touch. Think they are trying to get gear it more towards collectors rather than children. We have nothing this side that can compare ..... the master builders have been so busy that the place took my breath away !!!!
