Dude from San Diego, USMember since: September 30, 2005 View My IGN » The Bugs and Glitches of The LEGO Movie VideogameandreweisenI love the LEGO video games! Unfortunately, as fun and charming as they are, they are riddled with bugs, glitches and really, really questionable design decisions to the point where I honestly question whether anyone at Traveler's Tales actually played them before shipping them to retail. I wrote IGN's Wiki Guide for The LEGO Movie Videogame and during the course of my playthrough, I ran across dozens of bugs.  Here are a few of them:   And here are a few more that didn't make the cut for the video: Sometimes the "switch characters" button doesn't work.  Check out the below video at the 7:50 mark to see what I mean. In the alleyway of level 2, there's a pile of rainbow blocks that appear to be impervious to Uni-Kitty's attacks.  Check out the below video at about 13:35 to see! On level 5, you have to use a moving platform to get your companion characters across a gap.

Instead of stepping on the platform, they teleport to it!  Check out the below video at 3:05. Also, at the 4:50 mark, you'll see a mistimed hint telling you to "Take the Valve Handle back to the pipe" after you have already done that! Even though modern controllers have a bunch of buttons "build with LEGO bricks" and "transform Uni-Kitty into Angry Kitty" use the same button.  This often leads to you doing one thing when you intended to do the other but it definitely shouldn't happen when the prompt for "build with LEGO bricks" is clearly displayed!  Check out the below video at 8:50. Vehicles have different control schemes depending on where you are.  In the levels, you push the control stick in the direction you want to go.  In the hub worlds, you use one of the face buttons to move the vehicle forward.  To be fair, this is probably not a bug.  I imagine this was done because levels use a fixed camera while hub worlds use a free camera and TT Games thought this would be easier.

What is a bug is the fact that hub word driving controls appear at the bottom of the screen when manning a vehicle in a level!  Check out the below video at 10:20. Uni-Kitty gets lost and doesn't follow the group to the end of the stage.   If you screw up one of the hacking minigames, your score doesn't reset.  This means you can collect all the studs then die on purpose to reset the board to collect even more studs.  If this isn't a bug, it's a poorly thought out design!  See an example below at 2:15. Targeting objects with projectiles is rarely precise in this game but it seems to be at its most wonky underwater!  Check out the below video at 3:40 and 6:15 for a couple examples. I don't have video of this but occasionally the remains of defeated Micro Managers will float above the ground. And that's about it.  But if you ask me, that's enough!   to help us recognize and promote great bloggers on IGN.Due to constant abuse from this IP range, all interactive traffic is blocked.

The LEGO Movie Videogame takes the majority of its gameplay cues from the previous LEGO videogames, combining block-smashing combat with platforming and puzzle segments.TT Games was apparently reluctant to alter what has been a winning formula for them in the past, and although it has lost some of its sheen after so many instalments, a memorable roster of playable characters helps keep the game fresh.bat largely consists of mindless button bashing, but is occasionally fun and therapeutic, while puzzle solving typically involves using several characters' abilities in conjunction with one another. For instance, Emmet is equipped with a pneumatic drill that can be used to deconstruct parts of the environment, allowing other team members to use their unique skills to fashion the debris into a scalable platform. These puzzles aren't particularly challenging, as the solutions nearly always involve smashing or rebuilding something nearby with visual cues to help you along, but this at least makes The LEGO Movie Videogame accessible to younger players.

Having to switch between three or more characters to solve some of the game's more complex conundrums begins to feel tedious after a while, though this is a criticism that dates back as far as the original LEGO Star Wars.Levels are something of a mixed bag, ranging from the rich and colourful Cloud Cuckoo Land to the mundanity of a construction site, but exploration usually feels rewarding given that unearthing hidden loot takes you a step closer to unlocking some of the bonus characters. The LEGO Movie Videogame won't hold too many surprises for long-term fans of the series, yet the developers have experimented with some new ideas, such as a block-matching mini-game that has players identifying individual LEGO pieces against the clock. Pause the game, select the "Extras" option, and choose the "Enter Code" selection. Find the "floating kit" surrounded by studs next to the police station in Bricksberg. Walk up to it, then enter one of the following codes to unlock the corresponding special content:
