Easter Eggs and Secrets - 3 years ago The film heavily implies that Bruce Wayne and Batman are the same person. Kragle comes from Krazy Glue, but as some letters are rubbed off, the Lego characters read it as Kragle. One realm of the Lego universe is a clever play on words. Middle Zealand is a combination of Middle Earth and New Zealand, the place Middle Earth is based off of. At the end of the film, Batman tells Wyldstyle "He's (Emmet) is the hero you deserve," referring to the well known quote from the end of Dark Knight where Batman says he is the hero the city deserves. Dream Session with Dreydon Sobanja Flaxmere Library is still buzzing after a visit from author Dreydon Sobanja.  He spent an hour with us, sharing his books on high-achieving New Zealanders and talking to children about their own personal dreams.  After a discussion about how these goals can be achieved, Paige and Ron were very brave and read some pages from his books to the group.  To finish everyone drew their own posters and wrote about their personal dreams. Dreydon's books on Jean Batten and Sir Edmund Hillary are ideal for primary-school children and show how dreams can become reality if we have a plan, persevere and take advantage of opportunities along the way.

It is not too late to hear his inspirational message as he will be in the district until Friday.  He is visiting Hastings Library on Thursday, 18 July at 10.30 am and Havelock North Library on Friday, 19 July at 10.30 am. If you wish to check if his books are available please click here.  If you want to read more about his organisation, Inspired Kids, click on this link: http://www.inspiredkids.co.nz/ The school holidays started with a bang in Flaxmere yesterday with a visit from Pirate Gran and her motley crew.  The first activity of the morning was decorating biscuits and then catapault making.  About 70 children joined in the fun and were very patient while the icing dried on their biscuits. However, some of the crew decided to play a trick on Pirate Gran and glued her cannonball to the catapault so it couldn't be launched.  Needless to say, they had to walk the plank, ooo aargh! There is plenty more happening in the Hastings District Libraries over the holidays.
