We provide family learning sessions that provide …Today it was revealed in the LEGO Ideas Blog the results of the second review of 2016. The winner was one of the most modest sets the celebrates the achievement of women in science, the Woman in Nasa by 20tauri. It’s a great tribute set but of course not the greatest. But I understand LEGO: there are sets that are just to be to be considered and they would become to expensive to be sold. I’m glad that Voltron: Defender of the Universe by len_d69 is still under consideration. I suspect that LEGO ready wants to sell it (the set was a success all over the internet), but it is trying to adquire the rights. A possible model was to have the 5 lions sold separately. This way we would not have a really expensive set, but a series of sets to collect that in the end they would form Voltron!!!!

You can check the full reveal below. You can check the sets that did not pass the review below. But recently she received her first non DUPLO LEGO. The set was LEGO 41308 Stephanie’s Friendship Cakes. Of course she loved it. First she loves LEGO Second she loves the LEGO Friends Theme Third the loves to help her mother making cakes and now she has its own bakery Can wait until she’s old enough to help be build some Star Wars UCs that I have stored.

Back in 1987, a little 4 years old received his first LEGO. Because he was a Sci-Fi fan, their parents gave him a LEGO Classic Space set, the 6872 Xenon X-Craft. This set was release in 1985 and is part of the extensive collection of Classic Space sets that LEGO released in the 80’s. This yellow space minifigure appeared in 27 different sets! I remember almost every detail of this set, because I played a lot with it (and when I say a lot, it’s a lot). My minifigure is faded and with a lot of teeth marks. Most of the parts are faded, worn out, broken or also with tooth marks (my tool to separate LEGO bricks at the time). Yes, you can say I took really good care of my LEGO sets back in the day. This trip down the memory lane made me wish to have this set again. Mint or at least near in good condition. Probably going to look for it on Bricklink or ebay and find a nice deal just to own it again. And you, what was your first LEGO set? Do you still have it? Share it with us!

The New York Toy fair brought us images of the new Star Wars sets that will be release on the second half of 2017. All of the sets below were on our post about the 2017 rumours. But now we can finally see the images. 75166 First Order Transport Speeder Battle Pack Minifigures: 2 Storm Troopers, 1 Flame Trooper, 1 First Order Transport Driver 75167 Bounty Hunter Speeder Bike Battle Pack Minifigures: Bossk, Dengar, IG-88, 4-LOM 75178 Jakku Quad Jumper Minifigures: Rey, Finn, BB8, First Order Stormtrooper, Unkar’s Thug Minifigures: Han Solo, Chewbacca, Bala-Tk, Guavian Security Soldier Minifigures: Clone Trooper Gunner, Kayla Secura, 2x Battle Droid Minifigures: Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar Minifigures: Rowan, Emperor Palpatine, M-OC Hunter Droid, Probe Droid Minifigures: Zander, Roger, Quarrie, Rowan, Stormtrooper 75532 Scout Trooper and Speeder Bike Image Credits: Brick Show and Brickset

Brick Show has just released one of the most important pictures of the NY Toy Fair: a picture of the box the new series of minifigures. The color will be blue (similar to Series 5) and it will have the typical 16 minifigures. But (and there is always a but) there is a mystery minifigure on the right. Does this means that, like in series 10, we will have a new Mr. Gold or it’s just marketing working and that is only the 16th minifigure? There are awesome minifigures like the Rocket Kid, the Flash Gordon like Space Warrior, the Gladiador and finally the Corn Man. Stay tuned for more news about the new series. It’s schedule to be released in May 2017. The Battle of the Hornburg is the real name of the commonly known Battle of Helm’s Deep, one of the great battles in the original Lord of The Rings Trilogy. This battle happened in the second movie of the Trilogy, The Two Towers, and opposes about 2000 Rohirrim defenders and Elfs to about 10000 Orcs and Uruk-hai warriors.

In 2012 LEGO, under the Lord of the Rings IP, launched a set to represent this battle. It was a small set of 1368 pieces that brought 8 minifigures: Aragon, Gimli, Haldir, King Théoden and 4 Uruk-Hai. Notice that i said it was small set. This because the recreation that the 2 AFOLs Rich-K & Big J. did of this battle is EPIC! 150.000 LEGO parts and 1700 minifigures were used to recreate one of the greatest battles in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The construction weights about 160 pounds (70kg) and mesures 9 by 5 feet (approximately 2.7 by 1.5 meters). And this is the final result: If found this flickr page that i assume it is from one of the creators and were you can find even more pictures. This is probably one of the most Epic MOCs ever built and probably one of the most amazing MOC of Lord of the Rings out there. Just found an old movie on Youtube of the program How It’s Made. This Episode showed, in resume, the process behind the creation of the LEGO brick and minifigure.

On a previous post I’ve released the results of the 2016 LEGO ideas. The winner was the fishing house, a beautiful set created by the Ideas user Robert Bontenbal. Now it just appeared on reddit images of the box of this future set. It’s the first look of the LEGO treatment the fan set received. An this is the original one. As you can see there a subtle differences between the 2 sets. Lego kept the main structure of the house but removed a lot of details like the 3 tires, the gold fish on top of the tower, the fishes above the window, the base of the house. LEGO of course added a lot of other details like a custom name for the house, a lot of playable details (like the boxes we can see in front the house) and, at least, 4 minifigures. Hope that the interior is as detailed as the original set was and that the house opens from the side so we can access its interior easily. The set should be release by the end of this year. If you are a fan of LEGO and you like hamburgers you are lucky.

“The Brick Burgers” is a LEGO themed restaurant that serves LEGO themed burgers. Yes, you read correctly. The burgers look like LEGO bricks and even have different colours. But not just the burgers. The store is also decorated with a lot of LEGO sets from City, to Marvel, DC, Lord of the Rings and even some MOCs. They even have a challenge called Lord Business Challenge where you can win LEGO sets if you finish your meal in a certain amount of time. The less time you take, better the price will be. And judging from the menu of the restaurant, this place is not afraid of breaking some laws. Or that, or they have a nice licensing deal with Disney. They have burgers like the Hulk Buster, Darth Burger or the Lord Business. Unfortunately the worst is not the name of the Burgers, is the use of the LEGO brand itself. But that is something for LEGO to Judge. Details apart, the major downside of this restaurant is that it is based in Philippines. It’s a little bit far from most of us but if, by any chance, you live in the country or happen to go there on vacations, don’t hesitate and visit the restaurant that celebrates LEGO.
