Emmet (Chris Pratt), an ordinary LEGO figurine who always follows the rules, is mistakenly identified... The Lego Movie - review and trailer The Lego Movie is a surprisingly touching children's movie The Lego Movie is already a blockbuster success in America [FACEOOK] Directors: Phil Lord, Christopher Miller; starring: voices: Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman (U, 100mins)If you build it, they will come. So it proves for The Lego Movie, already a blockbuster success in America and a trippy hoot, proving that naked commercial opportunism can be inspired, irreverent and quite bonkers.Directed and written by the clever duo behind Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the picture celebrates the product while sending it up and subverting corporate and consumer culture of which the The Lego Movie itself is a part. In other words, it has its cake and eats it. Making a virtue of lego’s limitations - inexpressive little figures, instruction manual uniformity - the story focuses on a blissfully bland construction worker Emmet (Chris Pratt) who adores the conformity of his existence summed up by a gloriously vacuous number, “Everything Is Awesome.”

However, he’s forced to discover his inner personality, not to mention hero, after being mistaken as the “Special” of a long-told prophecy about a saviour who will liberate the Lego people from the tyranny of control freak Lego lord President Business (Will Ferrell). Yes, it’s the The Life Of Brian with Lego (“he’s not special, he’s a construction worker”) and a cast of mythic fantasy characters: Batman, Superman, Gandalf and Hans Solo are amongst several lego-licensed heroes who appear to great comic effect. They’re inhabitants of a universe in which nothing, and no one, are what they seem - including the universe itself. At times it’s too frenetic and the lego visual aesthetic with its homemade, stop-motion feel becomes a bit wearying but it’s endlessly inventive and a lovely third act twist brings the fun to a surprisingly touching conclusion.  The following movies are AUDIO DESCRIBED on Apple's or purchase IN THE USA.  You need to download and launch iTunes

If you’re looking to pre-order, GameStop customers have the option of an exclusive Silver Centurion Iron Man LEGO minifigure. LEGO Marvel’s Avengers comes with the usual suspects, and a few surprises. For a start, players will be able to play as both Sam Wilson’s Captain America and America Chavez. If that’s not interesting enough, you’ll also be able to play as the Stan-buster, which is essentially Iron Man’s Hulk-buster suit as if it was built by Stan Lee. The Stan-buster takes its cues from both the original source material and, obviously, Stan Lee.

It even has Stan’s trademark mustache on the helmet, and his glasses. Wesley Copeland is a freelance news writer. There used to be a stigma attached to “direct-to-video” entertainment because for a long time it just wasn’t any good. But for the better part of the last decade, Warner Bros and DC Animation have been giving us plenty of amazing quality adventure stories based on various different DC Comics titles and characters. They’re all pretty fantastic. After the success of The LEGO Movie a couple of years ago, LEGO DC movies have been coming out as well and they’re the comedic equivalent of all those great Bruce Timm shorts.

In other words, they rock. We now have the exclusive announcement and trailer for the latest LEGO/DC Comics team up, entitled LEGO DC Comics Superheroes – Justice League: Cosmic Clash, the mouthiest of mouthfuls. In it, the brick-battling Justice League — Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern, and Cyborg — must fend off that no-good robotic alien menace, Brainiac, before he bags Earth as the next addition to his shrunken menagerie. But Brainiac has a secret weapon, and hurls members of the League to different points in time, meaning Batman, Flash, and Cyborg have to assemble the Cosmic Treadmill to get them back. Characters like Supergirl, Saturn Girl, Cosmic Boy, Lightning Lad, Vandal Savage and Captain fear also make appearances. It’s going to be a heck of a team up. The cast includes some amazing voice talent including Troy Baker (Batman), Nolan North (Superman), Grey Griffin (Wonder Woman), Josh Keaton (Green Lantern), Khary Payton (Cyborg), James Arnold Taylor (The Flash), Phil LaMarr (Brainiac), Jessica DiCicco (Supergirl), Kari Walhgren (Saturn Girl), Yuri Lowenthal (Cosmic Boy), Andy Milder (Lightning Lad), Phil Morris (Vandal Savage), and Jason Spisak (Captain Fear).
