Titles for Star Wars movies must be like buses; you wait ages for one and then they come along in a clump. Last week we learned that Episode VIII—which arrives in December—will be called Star Wars: The Last Jedi. That film will be followed in 2018 by a Han Solo origin story, and thanks to Chris Miller's Twitter feed, we have a name: — Chris Miller (@chrizmillr) January 30, 2017 Miller is directing the movie alongside Phil Lord; the duo were previously responsible for the (excellent) Lego Movie. And as we discovered last August, Adam Ehrenreich is expected to star as Han Solo, possibly in more than one film. Star Wars: Red Cup might be somewhat of an inside joke; after all, the eponymous drinking vessel is made by a company called Solo. And it could just be a working title for now, the way Return of the Jedi was filmed under the moniker Blue Harvest. Then again, that was done to confuse fans hungry for news in the days before the Internet, and Miller's clapperboard does still have Star Wars written on it.

Should Miller's choice of words—Han First Shot—be taken as an undoing of George Lucas' infamous decision to retcon so many childhoods with his Star Wars special edition? After all, that change in dynamic between Greedo and Han Solo fundamentally changed the nature of the galaxy's favourite, scruffy looking nerf herder. Rogue One, the first Star Wars spin-off movie to emerge post-Disney, set a darker, more adult tone than the mainline movies, something Solo's backstory would probably need. If you saw the original Lego Movie you'll know just how funny it was. One of the best bits of the whole damn Lego animation was the Lego Batman, played by Will Arnett. He was funny, narcissistic and way, way over the top.

If you don't believe us, here's the original... But if you thought that creating a whole spin-off Lego Movie for Batman was going to be in any way shite, you'd be so far wrong. The trailer for the follow-up was released at Comic Con - albeit slightly under the radar  - but it had people of all ages absolutely raving about it. Now the full trailer for the film has dropped and we have to say we cannot bloody wait to see it...especially after the year we've all had. It certainly looks like it could well live up to the first $468m-grossing Lego Movie from 2014 (which we did not expect to be so good) but you're going to have to wait until February 2017 to watch it. Essentially the storyline is that Batman accidentally adopts some random orphan kid and ends up training him to become Robin (played by Arnett's 'Arrested Development' co-star Michael Cera). He has to save Gotham City alongside his exuberant sidekick against The Joker, played by The Hangover's Zack Galifianakis.

Election: 70% surge in viewers for BBC leaders' debate fuels high turnout...Filming on the Han Solo spin-off is officially underway, and directors Christopher Miller and Phil Lord have revealed its working title. While everyone’s been busy dissecting the title and logo of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, you may have forgotten about the Han Solo spin-off starring Alden Ehrenreich which is set to release next year. Well director Christopher Miller has delivered a stern reminder, announcing filming has officially begun on the upcoming Star Wars spin-off. Taking to Twitter, he shared a snap of the clipboard with the caption,’Han First Shot’ – referring to the ravenous debate over whether Harrison Ford or bounty hunter Greedo (played by Paul Blake) was the first to open fire in the Mos Eisley cantina in the original Star Wars. The clipboard also shows the working title as Star Wars: Red Cup – a possible joke about the Solo Cup Company which the director previously tweeted about when he first landed the gig.
