Normally I drop the gameplay audio level to barely audible when doing a Kotaku Plays video with commentary, but that went out the window the moment I realized Michael Peña was going to be narrating the whole thing. He brightens what would otherwise have been a pretty standard adventure with an anti-climactic finish. The final showdown between Yellowjacket and Ant-Man is a series of button presses, but who cares? We’ve got this guy on our team now. Luis with Ant-thony, both a playable character and a ridable character. Outside of the Ant-Man adventure Luis is a security guard with a gun, S.H.I.E.L.D. clearance and some excellent lines. With his best friend Ant-thony by his side there is nothing he can’t accomplish. Other notable minifigures included in the DLC are Cassie Lang in her pre-hero form, wielding that horrible rabbit Scott gives her in the movie . . . I love the tiara. . . . and Janet Van Dyne as the Wasp, who shrinks when she flies, as she should.

As long as she doesn’t get too small. The Luis DLC for LEGO Marvel’s Avengers is now available for free to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 players. No word on when it will come to other platforms, but it probably will. Warner Bros. It’ll just be a bit more massive on PlayStation 3 and 4 when it launches later this month.

And with Ant-Man involved, a bit smaller as well. As announced over at the PlayStation Blog, gamers that grab LEGO Marvel Avengers for PlayStation consoles when it launches on January 26 (or any time after that) will get also score free downloadable content based on Captain America: Civil War and Ant-Man. Since Civil War isn’t out for awhile, all players are getting there is a character pack featuring Captain America, Iron Man (Mark 46 armor), Black Panther, Winter Soldier, Falcon, War Machine, Scarlet Witch, Crossbones and Agent 13 (Sharon Carter). On the Ant-Man front there’s a combination level and character pack. It comes with a playable stage that’ll probably feature lots of being small, as well as eleven characters, which seems like more than were in the actual movie. Two Ant-Men (Hank Pym and Scott Lang), The Wasp (Janet Van Dyne), Ant-Thony the flying ant, Cassie Lang (really?), Yellowjacket, Luis and then unmasked versions of Hank, Scott and Darren Cross. So really nine characters with three costume changes and a couple of stretches.

That makes much more sense. Players on other platforms should be able to buy this stuff once they’re done feeling bad about this whole situation.
