Both content packs, the Classic Captain Marvel Character & Level Pack and The Masters of Evil Character & Level Pack, add multiple new characters to the game, brand new levels and “additional story-driven content.” The Classic Captain Marvel Character & Level Pack features Carol Danvers herself and adds Captain Marvel, Captain Marvel’s Skycycle, Helen Cobb’s Plane, Kang The Conqueror, Magnitron, Moonstone, Poundcakes, Tic, Warbird, and Wonder Man. For any unfamiliar will the hero, she is a pilot who was caught in the explosion of a Kree machine, resulting in her having cosmic superpowers. Along with the eight characters and the new vehicle, the pack also includes a new level. While Captain Marvel may not be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe just yet, she will be in the not too far future, with her own film already planned for 2018. Meanwhile The Masters of Evil Character & Level Pack focuses on the less heroic side of the things. Named for the long-running organization of villains in the Marvel Universe, the pack harkens back to the classic comics of the sixties, in which the team was first established.
It offers up 11 new characters and a new level. The characters include Baron Zemo, Black Knight (Dane Whitman), Black Knight (Nathan Garrett), Enchantress, Executioner, Iron Man (Classic), Melter, Radioactive Man, Thor (Classic), Valinor, and Whirlwind. These are only the first two paid DLC packs coming to the game. The Classic Black Panther Character & Level Pack, the All-New, All-Different Doctor Strange Character & Level Pack, and the Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Character & Level Pack are all scheduled to release sometime later this spring. While all the content packs will be available individually for $2.99, players can grab all five for $9.99 in the season pass. Season pass holders will also get free access to three character packs: The Avengers Explorer Character Pack, The Avengers Adventurer Character Pack, and the Thunderbolts Character Pack.
